My highest position for the season
Bad start to the season between week 1 to 8 ( was ranked 1250 at the end of week 8) also some bad trades early on, From there it was a steady climb up the the rankings which I got to 134 at week 23, then hit a road bump between week 24-27 which in that period burn my last 2 trades and was 212 overall, came home with no trades for 11 rounds and ended up 95 overall
Happy that I finished top 100, considering where I was

Trades history:
Treaded water around the mid twenties after reaching the height of 20th in RD30. Ecstatic with my third top 35 finish in a row in what is fast becoming one my favourite formats. No time spent watching any matches, mash the trade button until the halfway mark and then try to sit on a dozen or less for as long as possible. Perhaps I better try to hold some trades a bit longer but feels silly to entertain such an outlandish notion.

Well after being extremely competitive last season, my cockiness got a reality check this season.
Some really bad moves early on saw me in a freefall and I'll have to re-learn how to play this game properly next season.
Lucky to finish in the top 50. Sold KDB stupidly and then couldn't get him back.
Luckily Pep took pity on me and benched him for almost every game at the end.
Martinelli getting injured was great luck, as Trossard (who I paid about $12m but was now about $4m) came back in and scored well.
See you all back here in a few months and over in the AFL threads in the meantime.

No Haaland until RD 15
Selling Almiron, Miltoma and Estupian at basement price all before they went on unbelievable scoring runs hurt bad

Final round score of 129 to finish with a final rank of 374. I was aiming for top 300 after not starting until round 3, but fell short.
Deliberately went without Harland for the whole season, except decided to bring him in for the final two rounds just to see how it felt having him. That went well in both fronts!

I see that Luton Town won promotion into the Premier League next season. Back in 2013-14, they were in the same non-league division as the team I support (Braintree Town), and their final loss at that non-league level was to the Iron (who won with 10 men, and were up 3-0, at Luton). Braintree Town finished 6th that year, 1 spot out of the promotion playoff (s).
It's kind of disappointing that since then, after being able to beat a team that is now in the Premier League, Braintree have since been relegated a division, and until this season has struggled to win matches even at that level (6th level of the soccer system). Looking at that 2013-14 season, 3 of the 5 teams that finished above Braintree are still playing League footy (i.e. top 4 divisions), as are 3 of the teams that finished below them. Amazing how much difference having a bit of cash makes to clubs I guess.
Good on them, I suppose it shows that clubs can rise up the ranks to be successful with the right backing.

While I agree that this is a different test to anything Ange has faced before... I do find it amusing how the pattern repeats.

My wife is a long suffering Tottenham fan and the way I read the fan mood, he only has to reach step 2 to be regarded ahead of Conte. The difficulty, of course, will be that you can expect it to take a little while for his style to gel, and he may not get long enough grace to see it through. God I hope he does though.

I think most of the UK football fraternity have got past step one. I personally would love to have step two come to fruition. The last time Spurs played with any swagger consistently was under Pochettino. One thing Spurs have been doing in recent times is passing back far too much. They get two thirds up the pitch with the opposition defence back pedalling and then instead of putting more pressure on they stop, then back pass to the centre line, defence has settled and now presses up, Spurs pass back to another 20m, defence presses up and next thing you know it is a back pass to the keeper. Suddenly gone from attacking to defending under pressure. Seen that happen so many times in recent seasons. Hope Ange bans the back pass unless you are under extreme pressure.
Would love to nail steps three and four. J League imports anyone? We shall see what Ange can do.
