One thing about FPL is that there is no rolling lockout. That makes playing five mids with no bench a risk. With so many games being played in addition to EPL (FA Cup, League Cup, Euro football plus postponed games) it makes it easy for a player to get a knock. Then you to miss that issue unless you monitor 24/7 and I for one am not doing that. Plus teams are not released until 1 hour before gametime which is early AM for a lot of games. Just makes it too hard to manage and takes the fun out of it. So having a mid bench player is a better set up for me hence I think I am going to switch back from my original 3 5 2 to a 4 4 2 set up.
Subs cover non players, regardless of position.

Formation auto changes.

Really? I took below to be the rule, especially the last dot point. Hence no mid bench no sub. How is the sub chosen when you have 5 mids?
The sub is chosen from the order you put them in.

With the defender point, you must field 3 defenders so a mid or fwd being first sub can't cover that.

Will then auto roll to sub 2 or 3 which will be a defender. Just need to make sure they are playing.

Sorry I don't understand that. Do you mean there is a location where you get to pick the order you want your subs to be used? If so where?

Is this how it works? In the Pick Your Team screen I can see 1 Def, 2 Mid and 3 Fwd as the bench in a 4 4 2 set up. With a 5 man Mid set up this becomes 1 Def 2 Def 3 Fwd. So if all players on my team play in a 3 5 2 set up except one of the 5 Mids I will get 1 Def score if he plays. If not 2 Def score and if he doesn’t play then finally 3 Fwd score. And if none of my bench play I get a donut.

Correct on all of that.

From the team page, you can select order of your bench. So if your attacker goes MIA and your 8th is a DM, you can play a DEF at B1 and it automatically changes formation.

Thanks all for that info. Much appreciated. Was not aware of that and means I am back to a 3 5 2 set up.

Take Turner and Flekken, find a loop elsewhere?
Depends what spot you see as wasted. We usually bench a few DEF, so MID or FOR would be the only other good option.
Depends if you think you can get more value out of a MID or FOR filler, over the GK.

For me, I'll stick to the GK. As GKs can go minus, it's also safer to leave them on the bench. No negative scores, just upside.
Last thing I need in life is for my GKs to -8 and 12, and I've benched the wrong one.

WHU and BUR looking to get Maatsen on loan. Hopefully he goes back to BUR. Will be a nice option in a few weeks when we flip and look to go one up, two down.

Fixtures are very poor for Forest, and whilst Turner is basement price, he will probably stay that way for the foreseeable future. I don't think he's worth taking in RDT for the sake of putting a donut elsewhere.

I'm definitely taking him in FPL though. I only have 2 Arsenal at the moment so I'm not fussed whether he makes the game week cut off for the team change. I'm assuming his team will change before lockout though.

It better change, cos currently it looks like he's playing with himself.

Starting to look like this is my final team.

Walker plays first, so can see if he needs replacing.

The only other iffy player I reckon could be Diaby.
Can move to Tonali, Anderson, Buendia or Sarabia if he's not starting.
Then change formation and get Udogie on if I need to.

Any thoughts on the best loop GK? Hard to plan too far out, but always assume a stronger team tends to get a primetime fixture or two more? Arsenal perhaps, have a few cheapies that are even further from the start now?
I've got the Villa basement keeper because of the Europa conference league. Unsure whether this is the right tactic though.

Villa do play the first game of round 6 and 7 however Haaland is at home to Forest and then away to Wolves in those 2 rounds so if I had to straight captain him I'm comfortable with that.
