Everyone is expendable. For some the intention from the start was to use SGA as a one week rental to flick to Doncic for his run of 4, 4, 4 whereas others might not have considered the move but might be reactive to the 5 scored today. At his price range, it is unlikely that he will generate us any extra cash and as today has shown, everyone can score in single figures, so trading on a three allows the schedule to be maximised and reduces the risk of receiving a poor return on our investment. I gather most coaches are confident of reinvesting his cash in players on a four who either have not changed price or are outperforming their current price point and early on this is vital to keep cash ticking over to ensure you are not left behind the further into the season we get. Depending on dual position players and how coaches view the upcoming runs of the likes of Tatum, Giannis, etc, then SGA could immediately come back next round to replace Durant.
