These were the local uncapped players they were talking about after the auction , no idea if they are starting XI or not

Sameer Rizvi CSK paid 8.4 Crore
Shahrukh Khan GUJ paid 7.4 Crore
Kumar Kushagra (WK) DEL paid 7.2 Crore
Shubham Dubey RAJ paid 5.8 Crore
Yash Dayal RCB paid 5 Crore
Robin Minz GUJ paid 3.6 Crore

Swastik Chihara DC paid 20 lakh
Ramandeep Singh KKR paid 20 lakh

For comparison Starc was 24.75 Crore

On first look there are ways more all rounders than you'd expect. This happens every year but it's still a bit crazy. Akash Deep is an AR for example despite batting 11 for India on his Test debut recently...

Sounds like fun, so Iโ€™ll give it a go and jump in!
Just pick all the Australian players until you get the hang of it ๐Ÿ˜‰

Still baffled on how to approach it given no DGR's in the publicised rounds.

Let the bench players moo for 3-4 rounds then cash them out and just rotate onfield players each round according to match up.

Seems enough value to start to get at least 5 ultra premiums

Having a tough time with two favourites coming off injury.

The obvious one is Rashid Khan. He's always my first pick in these settings but it's difficult to pick him off three months injured... In most of his IPL seasons he's been a little expensive too, he's not nearly the same banker he has been in the BBL. That and coming off a career year means I might gamble and fade him to start with an eye to picking him up later.

The more interesting one, especially at the price, is Rishabh Pant. He's obviously coming off an even longer period injured but he's apparently been medically cleared to keep and that would be the more taxing discipline with his injuries. It's more a question of how good his eye is going to be after no cricket in over a year. There's going to be a huge amount of goodwill for him, at least.

Rashid Captaining the T20I side for the series v Ireland.

Games are on the 15th , 17th & 18th.

Was talk Pant might start as the impact sub , interestingly the IPL website is still showing Warner as the captain.

Atkinson , Brook & Krishna all $ 350k for those looking for a guaranteed ๐Ÿฉ , no idea how long they will keep them in the system to select though.

Absolute locks for me:
* Jaiswal (420k)
* Bumrah (363k!)
* Jadeja (885k)

Very likely to take into R1:
* Kuldeep (475k) - Looks to have really got his game under control now. Might even go up the order a bit and get some freebie batting points - not to be relied on though.
* Hardik (592k) - with the usual Stoinis caveat of "is he bowling?" So much of this game is opportunity and after last year genuine all-rounders are even harder to find.

OS players I'm watching really closely:
* Rabada (400k) - Something we tend to remember at the end of a season and forget at the start of a new one is that in this comp, unlike the BBL, it's the local players that have the JS. Last year Rabada was being left out of the Punjab side for Nathan Ellis (!) so even someone of his pedigree isn't safe. Price is very good though.
* Hasaranga (588k) - it might only be the Sri Lankan league, but anyone who can top the batting and bowling tallies in the same tournament has to be in the conversation. Especially considering the "base" price in this game is 562.5k (the average of the whole salary cap over 16 slots) so you can think of him as a 130k player. The difficult thing about this pick, though, is how top heavy SRH are with their internationals: their top five priced players are all overseas!
* Maxwell (659k) - Will be interesting to see how RCB line up. A lot of the value here is if he bowls more (as he has been for Australia) so I wonder how adding Green will affect him.
* Omarzai (350k) - If he gets picked, I genuinely think he could be anything. Again, with the theme of opportunity, in most reasonable sides where he plays he's batting probably five and likely to bowl four overs, which is a better AR role than anyone in the game last year that wasn't a fit Hardik Pandya. Could be competing with Miller for a spot though, depending how many spinners they want to play.

That XI allows me RK19 , Faf , Bison , Klaassen & Axar with $ 266,800.00 leftover.

Too much value on offer , too many premiums to sort through.

Iyer possibly with a back issue again.

Couple of the others may not starting XI.

Normally like to start DreRuss & Hardik so better start juggling.

CSK with the opening game , so better find room for Jaddu as VC

Still no closer to working out what the right approach is without DGR's influencing selections.
