Most teams had basically got to the point where they had a preferred 12. The actual XI is named after the toss, so if they bowl first they would name the extra bowler in that mix, and bring the batter in typically at the change of innings, and vice versa if batting first.
Thanks mate - that makes sense, very helpful.

Actually, with no points for dots, maybe 1/12 is just a neat 50 and he would miss his BE?

I mentioned wanting an RCB speculator earlier but I just don't know where it's going to come from. RCB look absolutely bare, particularly on the bowling line, I thought Tom Curran looked amazing value but it looks like he's been ruled out. Might be a wait and see, got Siraj in there for now but their early draw has three straight games at the Chinnaswamy which is always a batting paradise.

As usual I am currently running my three donut setup but there's obviously no guarantee I actually take it into round 1. Depends how my bench players get on.

I normally like the two non-keeper donuts to be on separate teams to hedge for different order of play throughout the season but with only four and a half rounds of data there's not enough info yet. There's also just not that many 230k ARs (except at RCB, who are useless as a loop).

Really only worried about Omarzai from a selection perspective. Ravindra should get early games in place of Conway, and obviously can be easily swapped if not, given he has the first game. Hasaranga has a bit of risk too but looking at their squad I just can't see the alternative to him. It means SRH would only play one of Head, Markram, Jansen or Phillips but I think those spots might be easier to cover with locals.

Hasaranga has been included in Sri Lanka's 17 man Test Squad for the Bangladesh series even though he retired from Test cricket last year 🤔

Tests are Mar 22-26 , Mar 30-Apr 3

Sounds like he might have been reported (again) from the last ODI.

Interesting

He received 3 demerit points from his latest incident , takes him to 8 points which means he is automatically suspended from the next 2 Tests , 4 ODI's or 4 T20I's (whichever comes first).

Comes out of retirement otherwise he would have missed the first 4 games in the T20I World Cup.

Clever move by Sri Lanka 🤗

If I remember rightly the Sri Lankans were also at the forefront of the "temporary captain" trend back when slow over rates used to result in suspensions for the captain. They're not above this kind of move.

Have to imagine it'll be looked at by the ICC, especially if Hasaranga then does make himself available for game 1 at the IPL...

How do you usually set up your donuts/loops, and what's the rationale behind it? I've only played one season of this and started no donuts

The normal VC loop we do is the WK.
Pick a bargain price player from a team that has no early fixtures. MUM looks the best. $290k for rounds 1-5 and
he is DPP.

If you really want to loop batters and bowlers 1st round you would need 2 more in each position
because lowest bench score counts for a missing onfield player. That obviously depends on how they do though.
For R2 you can use KKR LSG players as a loop instead of duds.

EG of looping a batter or bowler

B1 B2 B3 B4 (B5 DONUT) -BENCH 1 PLAYING LOOP, BENCH 2 DONUT

If playing loop fails then bring in a new B5.
I would stick an RCB player in as a loop as they play first every round 1-5.
Maybe even worth gambling with a less popular player.

This is a team based on a full house of loops and donuts
MUM all donuts
