So many options in IPL , local and OS it is hard to know who is a right/wrong selection.

Heap of value priced players to start this season.

Rahul has a fitness concern about him , so one to monitor.

L Yadav is a interesting one (Ave 41 last season) which is not far off DreRuss (45.3) & Hardik (43.2) though

I was'nt going to take the 60 vc. Axar was my choice for c but he would need a 2fa and 10pt ER
just to match and no guaranteed runs either. Think i might take it now.

So I watched the first innings last night and then caught up on the mini this morning. I just wanted to drop my observations in here about the match. Not all of them will concern relevant players, at least not directly, but they might be interesting trends to watch.

* Deshpande came into this tournament with good Ranji form but could not hit a length to save his life. Very easily picked off and Gaikwad struggled to get him back into the game. Ended up saddled with two death overs and the first went for 25. I wonder if they would have been better trusting Ravindra with an over or two through the middle - Jadeja was very hard to get away.
* Mustafizur was very interesting because for the most part he was actually bowling on pace. Maybe that itself was a surprise to the batters. Took a lot of pain at the death though. Don't know how far off Pathirana is but I still think they'd probably prefer him.
* I'm not sure how much you can learn from a golden duck but I thought it was interesting that the shot Maxwell got out to was showing so little of the bat... He was trying to glide a length ball down to third, and by then I don't think the ball was swinging either. It's just one ball so I'm not reading anything into it, just interesting.
* I think the change to two short balls an over is going to make a significant difference to how bowling looks - I was surprised at just how much. In particular Mitchell didn't look comfortable against the short ball and I wouldn't be surprised to see teams try it against the likes of Travis Head too.

Green over Maxwell as my Aus all rounder.

Currently no loophole, so will need to decide which keeper to field at WK and who wins out for the fifth bowling spot.
