Some observations from last night's games:
* Jaiswal is among the cleanest hitters in the game right now. What a gift it is to have him at such a low price.
* The pitch for RR v LSG was perhaps a bit misleading? It looked like it would take quite a bit of spin but there didn't really seem to be that much.
* KL Rahul has a very interesting decision to make. I don't think anyone doubts he can be the anchor that keeps his side together... But when par is 180 or more, does he need to take more risk?
* Burger showed just how important raw pace still is. The LSG bowlers were just having their slower balls sit up in the pitch, where Burger was actually rushing them into mistakes.
* Bumrah is back, baby!
* Hardik at 7 in a tense chase?
It's not even a captaincy thing because he was regularly at 4 for GT last year.
* Interesting that this was the lowest scoring game of the round. These might be the best two sides in it and it gives me faith that at least the best bowlers haven't entirely been reduced to bowling machines just yet.

Time for an analysis I did last year. I know it's kind of hard to keep up with the games seeing as how they start at midnight for most of us - really all we can do is look at the scorecards, and maybe some highlights, to see what the roles look like.
Most of the time you're looking at players batting in the top three of their teams, or death bowlers who generally get the lion's share of the wickets. I'll also include any notable all-rounder roles, as well as rookie priced players ($350k or less).
