As my team comes to completion I again lament the demise of key position forwards as far as their fantasy footy relevance. I wrote a small comment about Gunston a little earlier and arguable he is in that bracket, and that brought the thought again to the fore for me. It could be said that making the fantasy game into 20 midfielders and 2 rucks is lacking something.
Whilst it is fair to say that Swan, Lids, Gray, Martin, and co play a bit forward, they are not forwards in the sense of the word. My call to the fantasy game makers is to consider bringing back the relevance of Hawkins, Cloke, Roughead, Westoff, Petrie types in fantasy by not having so many M/F's. They are almost a totally ignored bracket of players. Just my brief thoughts.
There are varieties of Fantasy Games I have seen where the classifications of positions is a little more granular eg KPP Forward, and KPP Defender - thus bringing these types right to the fore

You only need to express your interest in the sign up thread. I had already moved your other post to the sign up thread so it is all good now.

Just need to wait for Rowsus to send you a pm who co-ordinates it all, he sends them out in batches so you should get a PM in the next couple of days.

I am very close to starting a 2015 rant thread, as this is annoying the .... out of me.

I have stared at my team for hours, searching for flaws or issues - I think I am now generally happy. Now I have started staring at the rookies in my watchlist and it is a seriously irritating process.

WHY IS THERE NO ORDER?! Ok, I am happy with not having a sort function, but surely they could have grouped the watchlist into either positions, teams or ascending/descending cost?! Even making the list in the order the player is placed on the list would be better (I have tried, this doesn't work)...

Good news for the Hawks...

HAWTHORN midfielder Sam Mitchell will play on in 2016 after signing a one-year contract extension.

Coming off another brilliant but challenging season, Mitchell appears ready to assert himself on the league once more as he prepares for his fourteenth season.

The 32-year-old hasn’t missed a beat so far this pre-season, playing in all three of Hawthorn’s NAB Challenge matches and picking up 20 or more disposals in each.

It appears the champion Hawk, who has already won three premierships, four best and fairest awards and been named All Australian twice, isn’t planning on slowing down any time soon.

He’s enjoying his footy as much as ever too, as the Hawks prepare for another assault on the ultimate success.

“It’s good to be at one club for such a long time,” Mitchell told hawthornfc.com.au on Wednesday.

“We’ve had success as a team and that always helps you enjoy your footy.

“When you’re winning and you’re building something, you find ways to enjoy your work and I’ve certainly been able to do that.”

As the fire still burns and hunger for success runs deep, Mitchell’s body, thankfully, is still able.

Scarily in fact, Mitchell says he still feels 25.

“At this stage I still do all the training, I’m still able to complete the whole pre-season without missing too much, which is always a strong indication,” he said.

“Everyone says the stronger your pre-season is, the more likely you are to be able to have a good season.

“I feel good – I feel 25 or the same way I have for the last 5-7 years.”

As the old cliché goes you’re only as good as the last game and whether you’re speaking officially or unofficially, Mitchell’s last outing for the Hawks encapsulates everything that has made Sam Mitchell the player well-respected and accomplished player he is.

In last year’s grand final win over Sydney, Mitchell was outstanding and narrowly missed out on the Norm Smith Medal – by one vote – to skipper, Luke Hodge.

In Hawthorn’s final pre-season hit-out against St Kilda, Mitchell did as he pleased on his way to an equal team-high 33 disposals.

It may have surprised some that Mitchell played in all Hawthorn’s season proper lead-in games but he says that match conditioning is critical to set up his year.

“I like to play as many games as I can,” Mitchell said.

“The game conditioning and recovering from games is the hardest part. If you get a little knock or a niggle and miss a game, you want to have something to fall back on.

“I was a bit scratchy in game one and not too much better in the next one but by the third game I felt I was running a little bit better.”

“To be able to play all three games and get some run into the legs has been good.”

Mitchell is the second Hawk in as many weeks to re-sign, with defender Josh Gibson signing on for 2016 last week.

Hawthorn opens its 2015 campaign against Geelong on Easter Monday.

As both the Spiritual Head and Dear Leader of the SCS Rant Thread PC, we look to you for (comic) relief of our frustrations and further enlightenment in Supercoach this year. I think we'll need it.

I don't think they make changes halfway through the season for Supercoach?
It was only Fantasy I think, and from memory just after the bye rounds. I remember Kieren Jack was announced as a MID/FWD selection. Still disappointed I can't get him in SC. Haha

Quick one, my mate's trying to propose a sidebet with me and wants a 1800 point headstart (75pts per week), any idea what that would work out to be in overall ranking terms? Lets assume i finish 2k for the sake of the exercise

Sorry mate I have no idea. 75 points a week is a big head start.

Negotiate. 1800 points is massive, try to haggle it down to 1000-1200 or something. Even then, if you get am ill timed injury or something you could be up s**t creek for a couple of weeks (Mumford last season comes to mind, where people kept him for weeks while he didn't play).
Alternatively you could go on a weekly basis of a 75 point head start. At the end of the 23 weeks, tally up who has the most weekly wins to determine the winner. I would back you in over the long term to get more weekly wins at -75, but not sure if that would eventuate to an overall 1800 point lead.
