Ladies and gents,

This is a real newbie question (I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to social media) but what is the best way to keep abreast of late outs and the like? Is there a Twitter feed that I can follow or how is it done?

Last year there was a live twitter feed on http://live-footy.heraldsun.com.au/

It is currently not working and I don't know when it will go live.

Follow Jay, then as many others as you can find and keep track of the game threads in here. You won't miss anything.

Yeah,
I barely turn twitter on these days but when I do it will be for late outs and learning the subs asap before games. Especially Saturday which has the most game on.
Patrick Keane is a good one and the other usual suspects like Triple M, SEN, Fantasy Freako etc etc.
I should look in there soon and find some others.

Herald sun live HQ. Just click on the game 30 mins before kickoff and subs and late out will be in comments.

Generally first and most reliable are the official AFL accounts:

For late outs and substitutes an hour or so before kickoff, www.twitter.com/afl
For final Sunday teams of a Friday afternoon, www.twitter.com/afl_pkeane

Everyone else is either retweeting these two or posting rumours.
Thanks heaps folks. Superb.

Browny didn't hold back on his debut...

Jonathon Brown made his debut on the talk show "on the couch" last night, true to form, he did not pull his punches. He launched this scathing assessment of controversial forward Tyrone Vickery:
“They say Vickery is getting paid four hundred grand a year, and that’s probably the average wage for a starting key forward, and that’s what he is – an average league footballer,” declared Brown.
“Everyone thinks he’s going to be a superstar, he’s never going to be a superstar.”

Good. He is spot on about Vickery.
Actually two weeks back when at Geelong v Carlton game, some guy was sitting behind me in second half and making grunting noises like a gorilla. Had a old or something I suspect. Was hoping he would go sit somewhere else. It was annoying the hell out of me. Later on when going to get a snack realized it was Browny himself...lol
Big fella. Straight from the Caveman age too going by noises he makes...lol

Yep that's something good that he will bring to the media. Doesn't beat around the bush. Goes straight to the point, much like his playing style.

Yeah, you got to be careful with your words on these issues guys. You simply hurt the person randomly speculating and wording in very loose fashion that only leads to other careless characters spreading stuff they consider as true that has no connection to reality. Chinese whispers to power of 50 is not more of what we need.

is it true XXXX XXXXX has been caught?
No speculation please unless one is able to quote a media source.
