Tick, tick and tick.

I'm still kicking myself about the Bont trade in particular. Rockliff less so but still annoyed seeing i'd held Sloane for 2 weeks lol.
I managed to avoid Bont and actually brought in Dollhouse that week instead, so that worked out well. Brought in Titch and have been hit by Rocky x2

Sucks about the Sloane trade! I managed to hold him through it all, hopefully he repays the faith with a useable score

Three ticks for me as well.

Happy with Mitchell.

Rockliff was a no brainer so it's just unfortunate he got injured again.

Not overjoyed with the Bont but I'll back him in to come good. With two weeks rest I reckon he'll come out firing from round 12 and beyond. The kid is a gun.

Hearing word that Bennell and Shaw have been taken out of the Gold Coast side.

Harley... you're starting to do my head in!
are you serious?? BENNELL? where from? NO WAY!!!! pls not
And that right there is me done...
Bloody Bennell. Sick of this game.

At least I don't have a 0. I kept Lonie because of all the injuries I had, now he gets his chance to score 30 against the Hawks.
Bennell:mad:....nothing worse than when one of your pods goes down!!!
A bit unlucky that it happened to be this week Bennell went down... But you couldn't seriously have picked Bennell at the start of the year expecting him to play all 22 games?

His games total's from his 4 years in the league where 14, 22, 15 & 15 games. No way was he going to play 22 games this year. He has that type of body that always picks up soft tissue injuries much like Rioli. You had to have known the big risks involved in picking him.

Yeh absolutely took him knowing the risks involved with his game count, but that's what makes him a point of difference player too.

For me it's more the 'teasing' aspect of him that has frustrated so much this year. His start to the year was quite lackluster without being horrible, then he shows what I knew he could and bangs out 146, then gets on the beers and suspends himself for a game and now he's popped up with an injury no one knew about and has been withdrawn from the named team in a week already filled with carnage.

I guess it would all be much more palatable without all the other SC damage around the place.

I feel there has been 3 big will I or won't I trade decisions so far this season:

Bring in the Bont round 3

Bring in Titch round 7

Bring in Rocky round 8/9

Fair to say that so far only the Titch trade has been a success?
Cross

All risky decisions at the time but at this stage looks like I've made the right ones....

Yeah, The timing is what hurts.

As a player I love what he can do. He was the one WA player I really wanted West Coast to go after as I thought he would be the perfect addition to our mid group, But now i'm not really sure I want him at all with his reported "Rock Star" attitude. He doesn't appear to be a team player and I have serious doubts he will ever get it together and become a true elite mid. Can easily see Gold Coast offering him up for trade at the end of this year.

Exactly my thoughts on him too. He's as good as any other in terms of changing a game when he wants to (I'll never forget him destroying Geelong and kicking 6 last year) and you only have to watch him live for a few minutes to see how hard he works off the ball too, but just his general attitude is pretty deplorable.

If he's this frustrating as an SC coach, I can't imagine how Rodney Eade must feel!

Yeah the same could probably be said about Bont in his second year as well.

I guess we can't be too surprised they're missing games but i thought Bont was a risk worth taking (i actually traded him in and didn't get his big scores!). Definitely a lesson learnt the hard way...oh wait i should've learnt that lesson last year with Titch in his second year *facepalm*

Gee I reckon people are being hasty labelling Bont as a bad call. Let's talk in six weeks!

For those that started him probably not but for me, he's averaged just over 80 and he's now missing this week. At 420k im probably breaking even but as an 'upgrade' and wasted trade, he's been a bad pick imo.

woohoo, i got one right! i think Titch is too early to call but i'm hoping getting Goddard instead of him will pay off at seasons end.

Yeah I agree plenty of water still to go under the bridge before determining if the Titch and Bont trades were a success/failure

The call was made more as a 'at this point in time...'

My 'Bont' is Ryder - got him in for TBC in Rd 6 and since then he's spudded it when he has played - now it looks like he's going to cause a donut.

Yeah I thought Bont was worth taking as well. I picked him up round 2. I can live with a missed game here or there from him and didn't really expect him to keep up those massive scores but I did think he could avg 100 for the season.

The ones that really hurt are the injures to guys who don't normally get injured like Brodie Smith, Sloane and Bartel, and guys like Rockliff who you might expect to miss 1 or maybe 2 games through suspension but gets injured twice and forces a coach to trade him out twice!!

Then you have guys like Shaw, Beams and Franklin who I purposely avoided due to their injury/suspension history and you could usually expect these guys to miss quite a few games each year and yet they have all played every game.

Of all weeks! Seems Glenn is still a fair way off with all these outs for the Suns :(
FYI Gold Coast twitter last night said he will play in the NEAFL this weekend. Hopefully will play AFL next week, I would like one score and price rise before I may turf him as like many I'm carrying too many round 12 bye blokes already.
I think he's an emergency now with Bennell & Shaw out

Yeah, I traded him in before Rd 2 (92.ave and now two missed games), so I'm certainly not popping the champagne on him, but given the way he plays and the Dogs' draw I reckon he's still as likely to average 95 from here as not, which earns his pay given his M/F status.

My exact thoughts also. Coaches being very harsh on him, and trading him out, some even did it weeks ago. Whilst that might look alright now, I'll back him in to come back after the bye and dominate again.

I'm not going to trade him out, but have been a little disappointed in him. Brought him in Round 4 and hasn't scored well... except probably 1 game.

Will eventually have him as my F7, so won't be trading him out unless he gets a LTI.
