May have been average last couple of weeks but I would never accuse him of not having a go, he sure goes for it..
Doesn't look to be playing injured, ball just need fall his way given his effort.

And for those still holding Hamling...

In better news, key defender Joel Hamling is a chance to return from a back injury for Sunday's clash with Collingwood at Etihad Stadium.
“Joel has come in well at the beginning of this week, certainly we’ve seen some significant improvement and we feel like he’s turned the corner,” Lowe said.
“We’re going to develop and build his load across the week and we’ll test them off the back end of this week."

West Coast youngster Liam Duggan will miss the rest of the year after injuring the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the WAFL on the weekend, but key defender Jeremy McGovern may only miss two weeks with his hamstring injury.

Still reckon I'll get rid of McG for Shaw/Hodge. Has been disappointing SC wise. Can't see him coming back from injury and killing it.

Wanted to use Saad as my D/M swing and was happy to play him at D6 but this many weeks out is just too much (think it's now 3 weeks)
I'm in the same position, and I agree.

It's actually the second time he's had a stint on the sidelines this year - so he will have missed four and only played 12. This is also one of those injuries that initially looked like one, then it was another, then another. If you're going to structure around someone providing you with cover, you probably want someone more durable than what he has showed to date.

As good as he has been, I will be upgrading him to Ablett this week.

Sloane back this week in headgear?

RORY Sloane could make his AFL return from a fractured cheekbone for the Crows’ clash against Gold Coast on Saturday, wearing a helmet.

The no-fear midfielder on Tuesday wore a padded helmet during a session at West Lakes in his bid to be available for the vital afternoon clash at Adelaide Oval.http://m.foxsports.com.au/afl/afl-p...at-adelaide-oval/story-e6frf3e3-1227450963115

Surprised (and equally not surprised) that more players don't wear headgear of some kind anyway.

I thought that it might have been smart first time around but something that protects the cheek bone and doesn't affect vision would be hard or impossible to find.

Something like this would be a nice look:

You wouldn't sledge him in this.

Really sucks about Duggan... Has been fantastic in his 12 games. We really got ourselves a future star.

Great news on McGovern though... Hopefully he's back for the round 19 clash against Hawthorn.

Just to add to that...

http://www.goldcoastfc.com.au/news/2015-07-21/optomo-injury-report-round-seventeen

Gold Coast mature-aged rookie Adam Saad will miss another week of football as he continues to battle the groin issues that have plagued him in recent weeks.

Unfortunately, Saad, along with ruckman Tom Nicholls will miss the trip to Adelaide, but spearhead Charlie Dixon remains a chance to return from the ankle injury that kept him out of Saturday’s 15-point loss to GWS.

After emerging as one of the more dazzling young prospects in the competition, Saad has missed the last fortnight due to early signs of the dreaded osteitis pubis.

The focus moving forward will be on managing the young defender’s workload so he can return for the remainder of the season.

“At the moment we’re just dealing with some groin issues,” GC SUNS head physiotherapist Adam Russell told SUNS TV on Tuesday afternoon.

“Load management becomes a really big issue for him. It’s only his first year, big step up coming from VFL. Obviously we’d have liked to have managed his loads a little bit easier but with the injuries we’ve had we’ve been unable to.

“So he’ll miss another week, we’ll gradually progress his load this week and hopefully have him back in full training next week.”

That sucks as a McGovern & Saad owner. Saad is my D7/M9 and I'm very low on trades so looks like I will have to either use a trade or play Alex Pearce this week.
