Just found this from the late mail:

Brisbane Lions midfielder Dayne Beams has decided against going in for season-ending shoulder surgery and will roll the dice in the final rounds of the year.
Dr Peter Larkins said he was not surprised the star Brisbane midfielder was facing Geelong on Saturday, but he would not be able to push on if his troubled shoulder was pushed out of place again.
"He is at risk of getting a knock or a further slip of the shoulder and they (the Lions) are aware of that," Larkins told AFL.com.au.
"There were discussions about ending the season early but he was keen to keep playing. This is his last opportunity."

This deserves REPS, best bit of news I've seen all day after a Hawks loss and The Ashes going down the drain...

Doc Reid said on Bomber TV a few days ago he hurt his knee in last week's game, played out the game, and it has pulled up a bit sore in the days after. Said it was wait and see if he played this weekend (which obviously now he is not).

It sound's like it's not too bad from that, but that would just be a pure guess.

Rumours circulating that Buddy's back problem is a result of his beer gut. Ling on the boundary as we speak searching for confirmation that it is the excess VB's that are giving him grief.

Sydney medical staff remaining tight lipped. However it is unclear whether this is the case because they simply want Buddy to do the same.

dislocated his shoulder tried coming back on with it strapped but was no good. may still play some games later this year but i wouldnt think so. put him in the rack i think

Beams was listed as injured in the post match write up (the super ladder article on the Herald Sun) with that shoulder. I know there was another article saying he would play out the season. Which is it?

The Lions website is asking, Beams' season over? I think he got another knock on the shoulder and i'm thinking he's cooked for the year now.

The highlights said he may have a groin inj. but match info didn't list him on the inj. list.

Fyfe playing in the last game makes for an interesting dilemma.

Might just have to lock Lambert as the E in the mids and hope he keeps up his good form in case of late out

Played out the rest of the game and was moving well. Should be fine.

He was in serious discomfort for about a minute or two, but never went to the bench until about 10minutes later. Ran off whatever issue he had, and best of all got a tone more pill and had a blinder. Pretty sure if it was half serious he wouldn't have played on, so should be fine this week.

50/50 = 0/100 for mine. Doubt they'll even bother flying him over...but then again St Kilda are their bogey side so they might want to play a full strength team.
