Flu has been shocking this year....surprised more afl players haven't been struck down. I guess they are healthier than most of us!

This would be huge if he doesn't play as lids has been killing it

You'd think they'd all get flu-shots. Has the nature of the illness been disclosed?

So, when do you guys think we will find out if Deledio actually boarded a plane to Adelaide?
I'd say very soon.. in the next 2 hours you would think. Players are required at the ground at least a few hours before the game, Flying time, travel time to the hotel and ground...

Some info on the upcoming derby

Fremantle has been installed as warm favourites to win a seventh straight derby, and those odds are set to shorten once the return of star midfielder Nat Fyfe (groin) is confirmed.

But the Dockers are set to lose defender Luke McPharlin for the match after the veteran was subbed out with a corked calf in his team's 37-point win over St Kilda on Sunday.

McPharlin will undergo scans on Monday to determine the extent of the damage.

If McPharlin is ruled out, coach Ross Lyon will consider handing a recall to fellow backman Michael Johnson, who has missed eight matches with a hamstring injury.

West Coast is almost certain to be without star defender Jeremy McGovern and All Australian forward Mark LeCras against the Dockers, while ruckman Nic Naitanui is no certainty to return.

McGovern re-injured his left hamstring against the Hawks, while LeCras was reported for a clumsy head-high bump on James Frawley.

Naitanui flew to Fiji on Saturday following the sudden death of his mother.

West Coast coach Adam Simpson isn't sure whether Naitanui will be available to play in the derby, saying the 25-year-old will be given all the time he needs to grieve with family.

Fellow ruckman Callum Sinclair, who missed the loss to Hawthorn because of a jarred knee, will be assessed this week.

Buddy worry for Swans over Magpies clash
August 10, 2015 3:00 PM

SYDNEY Swans coach John Longmire will be sweating on the availability of star forward Lance Franklin for Friday night's crucial clash with Collingwood against the SCG.

Franklin missed last week's disappointing loss to Geelong with a back injury, the same issue that caused him to be a late withdrawal from the Swans round match against West Coast in Perth.

He returned to the side to face Adelaide a week later but was noticeably stiff and sore, with Longmire admitting after the match that Franklin should not have run out against the Crows.

Longmire said Franklin was determined to play against Adelaide to support his good friend Adam Goodes, who had taken personal leave to deal with the constant boos of opposition fans this season.

The coach admitted it was impossible to tell if the three-time Coleman medallist had done himself more damage by playing under duress.

"It probably didn't help him – obviously if he'd missed that game he would have been feeling a bit better the week after, but you don't really know that at the time," Longmire said on Monday.

"We were confident going in (to the Adelaide game) that he'd be feeling OK, and he kicked three goals and played quite well for us.

"It's not until afterwards when you're looking in the rear vision mirror that you understand that he was a bit sore during that game.

"It certainly impacted on his ability to play last week."
