"Masten pleaded not guilty to the charge, with his counsel alleging Suban had “forcefully” wrapped his arm around the West Coast midfielder’s mouth.
Masten said he had “no intention” to bite, claiming his mouth was locked onto Suban’s forearm in the grapple.
“I felt an arm or something around my face and mouth area and pressure from behind… squeezed into my mouth area,” Masten told the hearing.

But Suban, who was at the hearing to give evidence, said he didn’t agree that he had pressed his arm forcefully against Masten’s mouth."
The tribunal heard Suban had been put on five days’ worth of antibiotics following the alleged bite, which had broken skin on his left forearm.
The Eagles called in a human movement expert to propose Masten’s mouth movement could have been a jaw reflex action.
