Yeo/Smith (D4) & Nicholls
vs
Goldy & Def Rookie

Going option 2 leaves me 3-0-5 in defence which just looks thin no matter who I put there.
I also have Tippet for ruck cover at F4.

Nic Nat by absolutely miles. Gawn hasnt shown he can match it with the elite ruckmen yet. 13 games at 102 doesnt make you a premium IMO.
I'd call NicNat an elite tap ruckman who can improve other areas of his game, whereas Gawn is a more rounded ruckman (not elite yet) who, once improves his endurance could be in the top 3 this year. Massive ceiling.

But as of right now NicNat based on his body of work and scoring.

This has prob been asked but I'm having a dilemma leaving one super-premo mid out. So...

Ablett vs Fyfe vs Danger vs Pendles. Who do I leave out? I'm leaning towards Fyfe but not sure that's a good decision!

Maybe rate them in terms of reliability (i.e. who gets injured least?). Minimise the risk :p

For myself, Ablett and rocky pick themselves, then if selwood is playing round 1 I am not going to be able to not pick him.

So it then becomes Pendles v Fyfe, and I am leaning towars not starting pendles.....

For me, I would leave Danger out due to him being in a new team and a traditional slow starter

I agree on Gaz and Rocky. Pendles played injured last year apparently and still scored well. Fyfe is a beast, it's just his price. Pendles has never let me down. Maybe Danger could be the sacrifice?!

Edit - written just as MMM posted, is that fate?!

Option 1 by a long way, and if McVeigh dosen't get up for rnd1(which sounds likely ) you could replace him with any number of top priced defenders and it would still be option 1 for me. Pendles being the over riding factor.

Agree with BigRuss. Gawn scored around 145 against McKernan and Blicavs/Walker. Both those teams should prove stronger ruck opposition this year, and outside of those games, his next best was 118. In terms of individual games, NicNat's ceiling looks to be at least as high as Gawn's, so I don't think you're sacrificng anything on that front if you pick NN. He's my R1, so long as he's fit.

Sorry if they've been done!

Simpson vs Laird

Also, apart form Martin and Barlow, who's the next best forward to get? Can afford anyone
Any other opinions on this one?

I'm really torn..
I have both at the moment.

Laird was a lock the entire preseason for me. And Simpson came into my side in the early parts of the preseason.

If I had to go one, it would be Laird.
