LOL...here we go again, the real season must be about to start!

As an aside, a couple of weeks ago, I had both Deledio and Bennell at F1 and F2 respectively in one of my team as a way of going against the grain in the forward line...thankfully the season didn't start then.

Not surprised at all... He is a lock to miss at least 3-4 games every year and definitely not worth going anywhere near as a result.

I know. The vindictive side of me wishes this had happened a week later. To start with him is always too much of a risk.

I have read this too. Apparently had something to do with the hardness of etihad being a risk for his calves.

Timely reminder why soft tissue injury risks are always there. Lids & Bennell both had soft tissue injuries last year and have injured them right before the season!

Bennell out might good for Weller/Blakely (do we go there though).

Why am I not surprised

I think the rumour that he was out for 4 weeks was bogus but the original poster on Richmond Bigfooty was around the money when saying it was a quad injury, as it's now surfaced Lids will miss this Thursday with a quad strain. How long he's out for is anyone's guess now.

I'm a little bit annoyed because Lids' ownership prior to this news was around ~10%. That percentage has to be spread across someone now so will make starting teams all that more similar.

"'Lids' is unlikely to play this week; he's had some tightness in his quad, hence you saw yesterday he was on a restricted program," Richardson said.
"At this stage we don't think he'll be any better tomorrow so we won't take the risk.
"It's not too bad, it's nothing serious, but we think it's probably better not to take the risk."

Grigg will miss too.

No I wouldn't think so... Jackson Nelson looks to have sewn up a spot for round 1 and either Sam Butler or Xavier Ellis will fill the void left by Wellingham.

He will see a fair bit more time in the middle in round 1 for sure and probably a little more time for the 10 weeks Sheed is out but not a massive spike, I expect Hutchings to come in for round 2 after another game in the WAFL this weekend and it will be back to utility status for Yeo. Can't see myself picking him this year.
