Ok so i'm probably going to do a defensive upgrade this week, could i grab some thoughts on Rance vs Docherty vs Simpson please.
I have simmo and he is always solid and has been for years. Im looking at either Rance or Doc as well im thinking Rance only because he is on down curve where as i believe Doc is at the top of his curve but really if cash aint a issue then you cant go wrong with any of them.

McVeigh vs Zac Williams
or
McVeigh vs any other sub 500k defender (not Bartel)
McVeigh has no form to suggest bringing him in.

Zac Williams another good game. What role is he playing and is he a risk of a role change? Buntine out this week I assume and thought they may have had another injury.

Enright has been fairly consistent up to last week and Rich is another one to look at. Laird $495k may be back.

Which is why I brought him in last week :p wasn't expecting any magic in the short term, but back him to work back into some form and now a potential POD lol

Tricky one. If Williams can keep it up could be a nice pick (shout out to Rowan for his pre-season analysis).

Enright won't be good but won't be horrible either. Safe pick.

mcveigh played fwd for 1st 1/4 and did nothing as SC goes , i feel he will be used where needed and that is never good for SC :( having Yeo is a pain for the same reason :(
Williams could be a risk worth taking and with shaw in the back half teams wont be worried about williams as much (cant play all defensive fwds)

Get Hanners and lose DPP link with m/f and have only 40k in the bank for next week
or
Get in Dahlhaus, Montag, Zerrett (which one?) and keep that DPP link going and have around 100-150K for next week

my mids are Danger, Pendles, Ward, Ablett, Priddis, Libba, Smith(rookie), Davis, (Hewett, Menadue, Dunkley)

my fwds are Zorko, Dusty, Hall, Barlow, Kerridge, Petracca, (Crocker, Uebergang)

I know its early days but I have to bring a rookie defender in this week.

Collins (fre) hasn't played a game but averaged 75 for Box Hill in the VFL (not that I'd expect that level of scoring at AFL level)
v
Williams (Dogs) who has done well in his first two but I'm dubious of his job security.

Anyone out there have a preference?

I'd go blind on Collins. Breaks the golden rule, but I'm pretty confident he'll be a good pick as A.Pearce is out. They have to give him games and he's mature aged so won't need a rest.

Cheers Bomber, been doing a bit of research and am leaning towards Collins.

Two tigers. Position not important, just value for money and point scoring potential. D Martin vs T Cotchin ?

Unless you're talking about a different game, I think the premise of your question is flawed, but I will take it at face value. Similarly priced. Dusty the more consistent (and better) recent scoring history. I'll give him a 106 ave from here and playing every game. Cotchin 103.5 and he'll miss one. Dusty then.

Cheers Stephen, although puzzled why you think my premise is flawed. I can take a mid or a fwd, or a mid/fwd that's why I said position irrelevant. Just looking for value for money.

FWIW I don't think either of them are particularly great value for money.

The reason I think the premise is flawed is that if you look down the track then position does become relevant, because if you select Cotchin he is taking up a place in your midfield, which could otherwise be filled with (to name a few) players like Hannebery, Selwood, Priddis, Rockliff, Parker, Sloane, Treloar or Ward, all of whom I would back to outscore Cotchin and most of whom are (or will soon be) cheaper than him. Dusty on the other hand is only taking up a place in the forward line, and there's not a forward out there I would confidently back to outscore him (not that they won't, but I don't know which ones will and he's a pretty safe option to be up there).

Think you are missing my point as I wouldn't be asking if I didn't think they were both keepers. Yes Cotchin is a bit of a speccy, but I'm looking for a POD centre and have identified him as someone who could fit the bill. Do appreciate you elaborating though, cheers.

Dusty easily. He will be one of the best averaging forwards by season's end.

Cotchin is highly unlikely to be one of the best scoring mids. Renowned burn man too.
