Not many Coaches will have the luxury of shifting Hall to the bench. most will need to hang onto him, or trade him out, as the dollars will be needed to complete their team. The problem that complicates Hall, is that GC are going to come into a really easy section of Draw after the byes. Do we trust he scores better against easier opposition, or do we cash him during the byes? I'm leaning towards the latter.
My plan for Kerridge at the moment, is to hold him and Wells, and loophole them at F6/M9 through Greenwood from Adelaide. Adelaide have the best FD Draw after the bye, and Greenwood is a $102k M/F.
Thanks rowsus :) Ill be able to get hall to the pine. Currently i have kerridge at f7 is a trade to montagna/delidio/tippet(ruck cover) that profitiable? I should be able to get libba to M9 too. I wont however have cover i dont think in defense. Its really difficult rounding out your team haha! Never been in this position before :p

Hey Rowsus,
In a bit of a dillema again and need some advice :p

Current team:

Defence:
Shaw, Simpson, Laird, Smith, Mcveigh, DBJ (Ruggles, Tucker)

Midfield:
Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Selwood, T Mitchell, Shiel, Ablett, Priddis, Liberatore (Smith, Dunkley, Davis)

Ruck:
Goldstein, Gawn (Wyatt)

Forward:
Wells, Robinson, Zorko, Hall, Kerridge, Petracca (Brown, Wyatt)

Clearly, forward needs to be strengthened as a priority.
However, Ruggle's 34, Brown's 29 combined with their impending price drops, along with Rockliff's 206 has changed the viability of my trading plans drastically.

Not only can I not trade either in round 14 at a decent price, they're also in danger of relatively significant price drops this week, whereas Rockliff on the other hand has always been in my plans, with me intending to sideways Libba>Rockliff when Rockliff's price bottoms out.

I initially planned a triple upgrade round 14 (Deledio, Martin, Rance), but that might not be possible now.

What should I do?
I have $120,200 at my disposal

I could go Ruggles>Collins, Brown>Deledio leaving me with less than 1k and 18 players instead of 19 in round 13.
Instead of Deledio Dahlhaus is also a possibility although his recent form is not impressive.

Or perhaps I could just hold this week, but I'd really like to continue my recent momentum with 2 top 800 weekly rankings in a row.

What do you suggest I do this week?

Cheers

Hi Row, maybe you can hep me decide as to who best to bring in.
My last midfield spot is between Selwood and Rockliff.
From here on in, who do you think will average higher between the pair taking into consideration their injury histories, opponents and also potential resting during finals.
My head says pick Selwood but my heart says Rockliff.
Thanks!

i have this same dilemma and i was going to ask a similar question. the stats point to rockcliff. in the last 3 years his avg after the byes have been 110+. my only concern is can he stay on the park. is it a risk bringing in rocky?

It's good that we have a few rock bottom options, from FD friendly teams!

Nice pick up Maso!
In fact Essendon is actually technically the best post bye FD team. Using the 1 for first game of the round, and 9 for last for game of the round, the best FD teams after Round 15 are (keeping in mind we don't need FD's during the byes!):

Essendon: 9, 3, 7, 9, 8, 7, 9, ? - ave 7.4
Options - Long M/F $117,300, Francis D/M $198,300, Grimley F/R $123,900

Adelaide: 7, 6, 5, 9, 6, 9, 6, ? - ave 6.9
Options - Greenwood/Beech M/F $102,400, Lowden F/R $123,900

St Kilda: 9, 8, 6, 5, 7, 5, 3, ? - ave 6.1
Payne M/F $117,300

Melbourne: 6, 8, 4, 7, 3, 6, 7, ? - ave 5.9
M King x 2 F/R $117,300

Adelaide, no games below "5", and the only team with a good FD Draw AND rock bottom priced options! ;)
Hi Rowsus, While we're on a roll with this topic who would be the best d/m FD?

Cheers!

Hey Rowsus.

I know you got McVeigh a couple of weeks back. I'm planning to get him this week; I'm just wondering if you've seen anything to give pause for anyone bringing him in.

Secondly, my Round 15 lineup is pretty thin. Is Jansen a must have if he gets ?+ next week. If I get him in, I might have to trade him back out in Round 15 to get 18 onfield.

Happy to help, Chasing. If you have Kerridge at F7, then I wouldn't be upgrading him until your team is complete, and you are happy you have enough trades left to sideways any Premiums with LTI's.

Hey Pro,
while it's good to plan ahead with your trades, sometimes you just have to look at this weeks trades in isolation, do the best you can, the worry about coming weeks later. You still have 4 to 6 spots to upgrade/fix to get a complete team, and only 7 or 8 Cash Cows to help you do it. That might mean you need to not let your Cows slide too much in value, before you trade them out.
I think Ruggles to Collins is nearly a given for you.
Your next trade really comes to down to wishes, and if you are willing to compromise. Personally, I wouldn't be touching Deledio, but if you have faith he can be mostly fit, he is obviously a potentially very good pick. Outside of him, you might need to consider a Wingard/Westhoff/Merrett/Gunston (if fit) type, that might fit your bye structure better. Given Deledio is would seem to be very likely to miss games and/or get managed, I'd be picking a player that gives you a better Round 13 bye structure.

Hey Rowsus,

I'd really appreciate your thoughts on Ollie Wines, as he's just been rotting on my team.
In 2014: He played 22 games @100 Avg
In 2015: He played 13 games @ 97 Avg ( 110 avg if you discount games where he was vested or injury impacted)

I thought Ollie Wines would be hitting in the 105-108~ Range this year but so far has definitely been underwhelming as he's currently - 14-17 under expectation. His scores seem to be mostly around the 84-95 Range with 3 tons ( 101, 105, 128 ), and i've definitely noticed that his TOG% has suffered;
99SC vs Blues ( 70% TOG)
62SC vs Melb (70% TOG)
94SC vs Collingwood (72% TOG)
127SC Vs collingwood (67% TOG)
His highest this whole year was 81% , whereas Robbie Gray is often around 85-90%

So Prior to the season, i was pegging him to average 105-108 @ 22 Games (2310-2376 Total Score)
Currently He's at 1010 Total. SO for him to reach 105 (2310-1010/11) he would need a 118 Avg, for him to reach 108 ( 2376-1010/11) he would need 124 Avg. Realistically, he would definitely not average the season at those respective figures but would it be stupid for me to trade him out this round at his potentially Minimum price to a proven ultra premium ( Dangerfield, Hannerbery). Or forgo that trade and Trade Josh Smith Instead into a premium <$580k ( Ward, Parker, Gray, Priddis, Rocky) and just let Ollie Wines rise up and revert back to his potential expectation before a potential sideways trade

Would love to hear what you think

Looks like his points per 100% TOG have improved as everyone had expected, however, maybe he is suffering from the reduced interchange rules. Was always known to not have a large tank and without the ability to play forward, is likely spending longer stints on the bench when he does have a rest, compared to last year.

Hey Rowsus,

You came highly recommended from a friend who's in the top 1000. Clearly, I need help and I'll love you for it.

Trades: 17 Salary: 8.8k

Current team:
Back:
Shaw, Adams, Dempsey, Brown, S. Collins, Tucker, (Tippungwutti, K Collins)

Mid:
Danger, Ablett, Shiel, Parker, Libba, Zaharakis, M. Crouch, Jansen, (Parish, Mills, Keays)

Ruck:
Goldstein, Gawn, (Cox)

Forward:
Zorko, D. Martin, Montagna, Wells, Hogan, Kerridge, (Petracca, Papley)

This week, I was hoping to trade Brown and Parish or Mills out for Laird and Trengrove but I'm 10k short! An alternative mid rookie that I can afford is Kade Stewart, although it's a bit risky because Hawks like to rotate their rookies.

Thanks, would seriously appreciate your thoughts.

Hi MMM and Ad,
unfortunately, this one is too tough to give a definitive answer.
My thoughts are, that Rocky averages more, Selwood scores more, both miss games, but Rocky misses more.
Given Rocky may average more, is cheaper, and is no certainty to miss games, I guess I'd choose Rocky.
This was said with no confidence whatsoever!

Hi Rowsus, While we're on a roll with this topic who would be the best d/m FD?

Cheers!
Hi Bones,
the point of the FD is, he should play late in the round, so that you can swap him about easily, but not cost too much.

Francis (Ess - Draw factor 7.4) is clearly the best from this point of view, but is too expensive at $198,300
Hewett (Port - Draw factor 4.9) isn't great for playing late, but only costs $102,400.
Adamson (WC - Draw factor 5.3) is a little better Draw wise, but costs $117,300.
Clayton (Bris - Draw factor 6.0) might be the best compromise at $123,900.

Hi Eagling,
McVeigh has only played one game in my team, and it was wettest game of football in years, so we should just ignore. So, no I haven't seen anything to give me pause.
There is no way anyone can declare Jansen a must have, after just one game. Even if he was a must have, if you have trade him out again so quickly, doesn't that sort of defeat the purpose of him being a must have?

Hey Steuby,
I suggested to someone 2 weeks ago, that it might be time to be rid of Wines, before his value drops too much more. It would seem this week, that Smith will rise in value, and Wines will drop in value. I say bite the bullet and bid Ollie bye bye.

I would love to take the time to look at your team in depth, and work out what might be your best moves in the coming weeks.
Even though you have given me a very detailed account of your team, could you tell me your team name as well?

Good morning Rowsus

Some help with choosing a defender would be much appreciated. Most have picked up McVeigh as a value pickup but I'm considering skipping him and getting Suckling instead. Scores of 110, 96, 17 (inj) 122, 92 in his last 5 starts seems much better than McVeigh's 79, 116, 70, 68, 91 and he's also about $60k cheaper. I can only reach him with one trade by using Tippa which means Brown will remain to stink up my defence. Actually he'll probably have to go forward to cover Hall, urghhhhhhh... Anyway do you think of the Suckling trade. PS i have $86k in the bank.

Thanks

Hey Rowsus,

Resisted temptation to trade last week as I was just not sure which way to go.
Snuck home in my league match which was great anyway.
With overall out of the equation (ranked around 11k) and only 16 trades it's getting tough.
With no trades last week it means I still have BKen, Hewett, Keays, Ruggles, T.Cole and my mistake Hutchings
Now what I guess is my question. Still short for round 13 players but just have to cop it.
Do I keep BKen and Hutchings? BKen has potential to score better than Hutchings but his JS could now be shaky compared to Hutchings. However hearing he injured his ankle in warm up two weeks ago and he starred in VFL last week I am leaning towards keeping BKen for now.
Both will drop in price and with Hall out aswell my fwd line looks bare.

My thinking was I have a couple of options:
1. Hewett to Collins and Hutchings to Dahl via Hall/Tippa DPP which reopens M/F link
2. Hewett/Hutchings out for Collins/Rocky via Tippa (no m/f link)
3. Hutchings/BKen out (both gonna lose cash) to Collins/Dahlhaus + $74 cash
4. Hutchings/Hall out to Collins/Dalhhaus +162 cash

Any thoughts appreciated
