Hey everyone!

I've come across a great fantasy site for tennis - Fantasy Tennis League:

https://fantasytennisleague.com

There's some pretty cool prizes and it looks like a bit of fun.

Getting this in early - this is a very lengthy competition (starts January, ends November).

You pick a squad of 16 with a $100 million salary cap. 8 are on the field, 8 are on the bench. Of the 8 on the field, you pick 1 as captain and they get a 50% point increase. You then choose another 3 players to go into the 'key players' section and their score is increased by 20%. These players can be swapped around/traded after each tournament.

You get 3 trades at the end of each tournament week (72 for the year).

Here's how the scoring works (copy and pasted from site):

Grand Slam winner: 60 bonus points
Grand Slam runner-up: 36 bonus points

ATP Masters 1000 / WTA Premier 5 or Mandatory winner: 40 bonus points
ATP Masters 1000 / WTA Premier 5 or Mandatory runner-up: 24 bonus points

ATP 500 / WTA Premier winner: 20 bonus points
ATP 500 / WTA Premier runner-up: 12 bonus points

ATP 250 / WTA International winner: 10 bonus points
ATP 250 / WTA International runner-up: 6 bonus points

Match points
+ 3 for winning in straight sets

Set points
– 2 for a doughnut loss (i.e. 6-0)
+ 1 for winning 4 games in a set
+ 1 for each set won
+ 1 for a tiebreak win

Game points
+ 0.2 per ace
– 0.2 per double fault
+ 0.2 per first serve return point won
+ 0.1 per second serve return point won
+ 0.5 per break point converted
+ 0.1 per break point saved

Here's a very handy link to the schedule: https://fantasytennisleague.com/calendar

This is my first time doing this, so this won't be taken too seriously and is just in good fun.

If this is something that interests you, feel free to join my league: 995511

Hi Erich,

A game for the absolute junkie. NBA is taxing enough, couldn't devote the time to do it justice. When I am dribbling in a Nursing Home in a few years time (59 this year) will have enough Fantasy to keep me occupied whilst others are doing Sudoku and cryptics. Then again, might not have many marbles and play AFL Fantasy. Cheers.

Put my team in, got no big guns but good players
Awesome mate, I've still got a bit of research to do before I settle on my final side. Thoughts on Kyrgios? Could make or break a season I feel.

I'm putting a squad together.
Hard to know whether to take Federer or Nadal for the bonus 50% option, or try to balance the squad out. Not sure I want a bunch of scrubbers on the bench that ultimately don't enter a lot of the bigger tournaments, but missing out on the big guns winning those tournaments is probably costly too.

Bencic is an unbelievable price! The same can probably be said for Kerber too. FWIW I have Kyrgios atm. Any other hidden gems?

Bencic is the main one. Bit worried because I have her on the bench and she could end up beating someone on my field quite easily. Maybe De Minaur? Can he keep up his current form for the rest of the year?

Got De Minaur too. I think we need a couple of 1.8m players to make it work, but I can't see myself picking anymore than that from the start. He seems as decent an option as any.
On Bencic, whether she starts or not will just depend on the draw she is served up.
If it's a decent draw I may shuffle an extra gun in, if not then i may balance a bit more

Perhaps Djokovic is worth a look saving over 7m on Nadal and 11.5m on Federer. Pretty convincing warm up against Thiem today and a fair few runs on the board at the AO

Bencic won't be making it onto the starting list after drawing Venus first up.
A fair few of the cheapies I like drew poorly.

Curious to see how this is going so far? Does it have live scoring etc?
