No appeal from Walters.

FREMANTLE forward Michael Walters will miss Saturday afternoon's clash with Carlton at Etihad Stadium after accepting a one-match ban for striking Adelaide defender Jake Kelly.

However, he has escaped penalty for headbutting Tom Doedee in the final term.

Walters punched Kelly in the midriff with just over two minutes left in the Dockers' three-point victory.

Match Review Officer Michael Christian assessed the incident as intentional conduct with medium impact to the body.

Christian believed the headbutting incident involved minimal contact and the action did not suffice a sanction to be warranted.

Afl website reports.
JAYDEN Hunt's chances of winning a recall back into Melbourne's team have been dealt a serious blow, with the speedy defender to be sidelined for up to six weeks with an ankle injury.

Bombers injury list updated today but no mention of Smith injury... ?

EDIT: Where did the 4 week rumours come from?
Not sure, I saw the fox footy interview with Dev after the game, he said he received a knock to the calf during the game and iced it up as a precaution. He said they now had a 9 day break and should be right to go after the bye. I remember that Devs score stagnated in the 3rd quarter around the 67 to 70 mark. So maybe it was in the 3rd when he got injured. He played out the game and when the lead could not be pegged back they took him off with about 4 minutes to go. I've traded him, but might reconsider.

Tom Jonas going to be missing this week, injured in first quarter last week but played out rest of game. Source the Age.

Recall a fair few considering him on this forum, going to hurt a few if indeed he was moved into your teams

Channel 7 reported Laird in doubt for the Hawthorn game , given the circus between the Crows and the media re injuries currently I would wait until Thursday night when teams are announced.

Poor Wellsy, simply cannot stay healthy. I guess this can’t hurt Mihocek’s chances of getting another game.

DANIEL Wells is set for an extended period on the sidelines after scans revealed he requires surgery on a foot injury sustained during Monday's Queen's Birthday clash.

Wells left the ground late in the second quarter of Collingwood's 42-point victory over Melbourne after falling awkwardly on his foot, but returned after half-time to complete the game.

However, the Magpies confirmed on Tuesday night that scans have since revealed high-grade damage to the Lisfranc ligament in his left foot, as well as related bone separation.

"Unfortunately for Daniel, an operation is required. We'll know what that means, in terms of the rest of this season, after the surgery but it is reasonable to expect that it is a long-term injury," Collingwood football boss Geoff Walsh said.

"Clearly, it's a bitter pill for Daniel to swallow. He had spent a lot of time getting into strong physical shape and, back in the team, he was working his way into the season."

Monday was Wells' fourth game for the year after he missed the start of the season due to Achilles soreness.

The 33-year-old played only 10 games in his maiden season at Collingwood in 2017, having dealt with a calf problem throughout the campaign.

Thanks Herbi - have media reports on Adelaide injuries been too conservative, too aggressive, or some of both?

I think it is more that the club seemingly change their stories each day and are not fully transparent (probably like all clubs)

Given it is a 90-10 split here for the 2 clubs , it is interesting that last year the Crows went to the media outlets and asked them to stop all their "hysteria" reporting every day.

Interestingly 7 was reporting Sloane was in the mix as well , yet the radio today said he was not likely until round 15.

The reporting on their hamstring injuries here is comical.

Awareness , tightness , strain......it is all the same , he has done a hammy.

Last week Crouch was wheeled out to the media as captain , then lo and behold Thursday night Tex was named.

I try and tune out to it all as best I can.

Thanks mate, great colour. Some clubs are a lot more accurate (honest?) with these things than others, it's good to understand this better.

This is the ONE thing this year that I find most frustrating as a SC coach. I understand it from the clubs’ perspective, but it almost forces us to make our own assessment and prognosis on injured players due to the ‘lack of’ credible information available in the public domain.

Any update on Devon Smith? The injury report for all teams updated yesterday doesn’t even have him as an injury.
