Match review of remaining rd13 Saturday / Sunday games completed.
One charge laid.
One other matter explained in detail.
Dustin Martin can accept $1500 sanction, careless contact with umpire J Mollison.

Aaron Sandilands cleared contact P Cripps. Sandilands placed a block on Cripps. It was the view of the Match Review Officer the contact was below the force required for a charge to be laid.

It’s all very confusing. Ed Curnow cops a week for intentional contact, Hawkins 1 week, May fine, CCurnow off. Looked like Dusty deliberately touched the ump to me..

Mark Stevens @7StevoAFL
Fine the correct result for Dusty, but confused at how we got there. Under season rules/parameters, assumed Dusty would be sent to tribunal a la Steven May. From there, up to tribunal to decide ...

The AFL has changed the provisions surrounding intentional contact with umpires, with Richmond superstar Dustin Martin controversially fined after being charged with only careless contact.

Although the league won't officially change the current guidelines until the end of the season, cases of umpire contact will now be dealt with differently than at the start of the year.

Elliott , Moore , Reid , Smith , Varcoe all ruled out of Sunday's game.

Mihocek should survive

Unbelievable, but totally predictable inconsistency. Can't recall being more apathetic about the game. We may watch players running around in footy gear, but it's guys in suits that are deciding the bounce of the ball.

Just to be clear, it's not just this decision, or anything to do with the player involved.

(Sorry if I've overdone it. It all seems to me representative of the way the game is being administered. A bit tired of it.)

Yep.
You can't change the rules during the season.

Seems like the general consensus is that mclean will play this week and bont won't... would hurt so much if true considering i traded in bont last week -.-
Who is General Consensus? Please provide the source (as per normal expectations), as I can't find anything in the HS or AFL sites to validate the General. Nine days must give The Bont a fair chance to get up given Howe played after seven with a similar landing.

I was going to go jjk this week. I figured Sydney would keep him quiet and then he'd be good to go from now on. Saw a lot of the game, looked the case was that he was just getting hassled a lot. Didn't know about underlying achilles issue though.

So... Looks like the Chad is entering my team instead. Yikes! Complete team, the Chad has versatility with mid/fwd connection... But... Not really trustworthy considering he likes to disappear up forward? in games so often.

Can't really afford anything else without another downgrade attached.

Probably as expected but JJK did not train today.

Kennedy kicked two majors but limped through the fourth quarter after receiving treatment in the rooms, and coach Adam Simpson revealed the dual Coleman medallist is no certainty to line up against the Bombers.

"He got a knock on the knee. Structurally, it's all good. It's just how he pulls up and can we get him up for training tomorrow?" Simpson told Channel Seven.

"We'll give him every chance to play. We'll see how he pulls up. He's a bit sore, but there's no structural damage, which is a great thing for us."

Kennedy, Darling and full-back Tom Barrass (back) were absent from training on Monday, although Barrass completed some individual work before the main session got underway at Subiaco Oval.

Could be worse, not his achilles, small mercy.

Anyone with Simpson at R3?

Any updated news on Tobias Greene ?

Adam Curley @AdamCurleyMedia
Rory Lobb out 4-6 weeks with fracture in back from win over Suns. Shocking luck @AFLcomau GWS were positive when he was cleared of punctured lung, further tests showed damage to thoracic spine.

Daniel Lloyd also about 4-6 with knee. Toby Greene has turned s corner according to Leon Cameron but still likely needs 3 weeks of training before he plays. Tom Scully still 5-6 away.

Cheers IDIG

I wonder if they go down the Patton/Keeffe/Tomlinson ruck path instead of Simpson ?

3-4 more $$$ out of Keeffe would be nice.

Greene might have to wait until 2019 then.

No updates on Williams , I thought they were hoping he might be available sooner rather than later.

Nothing definitive at this stage.

ST KILDA defender Jimmy Webster is likely to miss at least the club's next game after suffering an adductor injury in the first quarter of Saturday's match against Gold Coast.

The 24-year-old lasted just six minutes before hobbling off.

Webster went through some drills in the Saints' dressing room, including some run-throughs, but returned to the bench and was ruled out of the rest of the game.

Things only got worse for the Saints when they lost Bailey Rice after a nasty head clash with Jack Martin midway through the third quarter. He is expected to be OK for the round 15 clash against Melbourne after the bye.
Cheers Idig, hopefully with the bye this week he won’t miss to much.

The old annoying 1, 2 or 3 week injury for JJK.

“JK won’t play this week. They’ve found a tiny hairline fracture in his lower leg. It will be between one and three weeks.”

Adam Simpson says Josh Kennedy won’t play

7 times this year I have traded a player in for them to play one game and then miss the next (and subsequent games).
