Lion Harris Andrews will miss at least two weeks. He has a severe concussion and minor internal bleeding. Brisbane are understandably very cautious on concussions after Justin Clarke was forced into early retirement in 2016

i was very mad watching this on Saturday night. was needless and Harris and the team suffered then and will suffer until he's back fit and healthy. whilst i'm a proponent of keeping things the same, every time Cameron did something productive it felt very wrong. is it time to consider send o***? not sure. i hope Harris is okay, he's a good player but more importantly seems a like a really good guy!

COLLINGWOOD midfielder Adam Treloar will seek expert opinion over the next 24 hours to learn the full extent of his bizarre hamstring "cramps" in Sunday's win over Carlton.

Ahead of a trip to face Gold Coast coming off a six-day break this Saturday, Treloar appears to be in a race against time to play.

Magpie Adam Treloar may require hamstring surgery, season could be over

Jon Ralph, Herald Sun

COLLINGWOOD’S premiership hopes have been dealt a massive blow with gun midfielder Adam Treloar’s hamstring injury worse than first thought.

Treloar has told friends that he has torn his left hamstring off the bone and also done damage to his right hamstring.

The Herald Sun understands that Treloar will see more specialists on Tuesday about the rare injury, but the Pies confirmed a tendon tear is a possibility.

That would require surgery that could keep the 25-year-old out for up to 10 weeks — effectively ending his season.

The silky Collingwood star was sprinting along the boundary line chased by Carlton’s Lochie O’Brien at top speed late in Collingwood’s MCG win.

He leant forward to bounce at the same time as O’Brien lunged at him, putting a considerable amount of stress on his hamstrings.

Collingwood is yet to confirm the exact details of his injury but it is believed injuries to both hamstrings in the same incident are extremely rare.

The Pies are on the charge, riding a five-match win streak with Gold Coast coming up at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.

But with contest against Essendon, West Coast, North Melbourne and Richmond ahead, Treloar’s loss is a significant setback.

Collingwood has been able to withstand injuries to star players Darcy Moore, Ben Reid and Jamie Elliott to climb into the top four.

Moore suffered a second hamstring strain for the year in Round 8 and despite missing six weeks is still several weeks from a VFL return.

Treloar had scans today but said immediately afterwards he still wasn’t sure about the damage.

“I got a scan just before on the hammies and (will) get a couple more opinions from a few people,” Treloar said on Monday.

“It just felt like a cramp, that’s why we’re trying to suss out what’s going on. I’ve never done a soft tissue or anything so I don’t really know what’s happened.”

“I’ll find out in the next 24 hours, I guess.”

The Pies might need to move exciting half forward Jordan de Goey into the midfield to combat the loss of Treloar if he is out long-term.

In the heavy VFL loss yesterday, medium-sized forward Ben Crocker kicked five goals, which could see him put into the forward line if Buckley reshuffles his midfield.

De Goey has played a mix of midfield and half forward, as his manager Ben Niall continues talks with Collingwood’s list manager Ned Guy.

Niall had identified Round 15 as when he would recommence talks with the Pies, but those discussions have been ramping up for several weeks.

Niall confirmed yesterday the parties were talking but said he didn’t want to conduct them through the media.

“There are a lot of balls in the air so we will keep that conversation going and see where we end up with it. I don’t want to negotiate in the media,’’ he said.

“We are having cordial conversations as we planned.”

Re Treloar

I would wait for confirmation from the club before arriving at any conclusion.

The live vision was not pleasant to watch, however, he was walking OK after the game...If indeed he did both hamstrings, one off the bone as reported, more precautionary measures would’ve been evident.

I’m personally not holding too much hope, but will sit on it until something ‘official’ is reported.
