Rowsus, can I get your thoughts on Gaff, Beams, Zorko and KLambert for the run home please. KLambert would be my M9/D7 loophole

Hi Rowsus,

Who do you see as being the better pick from here on in between Menegola and Walters?

How are ya Rows.
Down to 4 trades with reasonable cover but still have Fritsch at D7 and now Fyfe and still need another mid.
Have nothing to lose now so was looking at Fyfe and ABrayshaw to two low priced mids or one cheaper mid like Shuey and a Neale/ Kennedy
So I guess it’s
A) Shuey and Neale/Kennedy/Westhoff anyone up to $580k
Or
B) Gibbs and Martin combo

Or even Gibbs and Shuey as Risk with cash leftover to assist with two final trades.
Still have Fritsch at F6 aswell

Any thoughts on Shuey and Gibbs (now Sloane is back) ?

Prochard, personal opinion only but if I was in your position and rank I wouldn't be giving a stuff about league finals!
Hey I don't care about league finals hahah it's just a trade could be worth up to 130 points in the final round if there are potential outs, possibly more. Imagine a ruckman getting injured in upcoming weeks (touch wood) the value of a trade could be huge!

I must apologise to everyone,
I'm on a family holiday in New York, and my time and internet have been more restricted than I planned.
I was hoping to get a couple of hours before this game started to catch up on the questions here.
I've been awake at 3am everynight, being perfect timing to do that.

Instead, I slept to 6am, missed these questions, and locked a Heeney donut into my own team!

I will do what I can now.
sorry.

No stress mate, we're all way too far indebted to you to have any grievances! Enjoy your holiday, there are far more important things in life than SC, no matter how seriously we all take it!

Hey Row,
3 trades left and going for highest overall position. My team is set, though I (along with most) have to deal with Heeney and Fyfe out this week.

Lloyd, Sicily, Crisp, Howe, Laird, Rance (Rice, Murphy)
Titch, Fyfe, Cripps, Neale, Danger, Bont, Coniglio, Rocky (Ahern, Giro, Barry)
Gawn, Goldy (Olango)
Heeney, Gray, Menegola, Smith, McLean, DeGoey (T Smith, Keeffe)

My cash is limited (33k), and I feel as if I have to trade out Fyfe this week to keep afloat. My cover is abysmal and I'm in huge danger of copping donuts in the coming weeks if I'm not careful...

My gut feeling is that I use one of Smith/Ahern (if named) to cover Heeney, and trade Fyfe to generate a touch of cash and alleviate a major problem for 4 weeks, conceding that I probably won't get him back in my side.

JPK, Selwood and Gaff are the three I'm mainly considering, leaving me with 64k, 90k and 89k respectively. Otherwise I close the Oliver POD, or chase a Pendles/Adams/Sidebottom/Zorko/Merrett/Parker type?

As always, would love to hear your thoughts.
hi rowsus

i was hoping if you can discuss the best replacement for fyfe out of neale, jkelly, jpk, selwood, neale

i was also hoping you can provide your opinion about lloyd. where do you think he averages from here on and do you think paying 570k is a worthy trade?

thanks in advance
Hi MC & Ad,
my general thinking on Fyfe is, that unless you are down to 1 or 2 trades, and have no cover, he needs to go.
He might be back sooner, he may not be back at all!
Who replaces him can depend on your circumstances, though the general rule of thumb when replacing a M1/2/3/4 type is to go like for like the best you can. Some who might be struggling to generate cash to finish their last spot/s might try and get some cash out of the deal, and that's understandable, too.

My like for like order, which obviously will contain some players you might already have, and assumes you might have a little cash is:

Cripps, Kelly, Dangerfield, Neale, JPK, Selwood

My "grab a little cash" order is:

Adams, Pendlebury, Heppell or if you really want a risk and more cash, Dusty or Miller.

Good luck, I hope you jumped the right way!

Hey Rowsus,

I'm back again! Sorry but I have a few more tricky questions

Just back on Lloyd...I actually can afford him now if I were to trade Fyfe out. I'm still not 100% sure on Fyfe, if its 3 weeks I'd certainly keep him, 4 weeks still leaning on keeping him 5 weeks probably wanting to trade him.

I currently have 9 mids including him, so it's just a matter of moving Rockliff on field M8 with Ahern as M9. I really do not want to trade Fyfe because I'd be using up a trade I saved for the finals. Considering I have at least +1 player in each position with good job security.

Anyways, my questions are:
(1) What do you Lloyd averaging at how many games for the rest of the season
(2) How much value do you see in trading Fyfe if it's 4/5 weeks in a point sense? Do you think he will back this season at all?

Thanks!
Hey Pro,
I think it's really important you maximise your points from trading Fyfe, and I think you should be trading him.
I don't see Lloyd as a good Fyfe substitute. I can't see any reason for Lloyd to miss a game from here, but (Lloyd is on around 110 at 3/4 time as I write this, but I will stick to my honesy opinion formed before this game started), I only see Lloyd averaging around 105-108 from here. You probably would have expected more from Fyfe, so should be hoping for more from his replacement.

Interesting you haven't mentioned Oliver, who was one of my final two!

How would you see it, Oliver vs Adams?

Adams has potential for higher scores in the absence of Treloar (as he did last year when Pendles went down)
Oliver seemed one of the safer bets (owned by 25% and less risk involved seemingly)

I didn't take the plunge with Selwood/JPK obviously, though I considered both!

siwel,
I keep expecting Ga*** wheels to fall off, but he keeps performing. I'm actually slowly getting converted to this might be his season, but I wouldn't have high hopes of him continuing to be a strong Prem in future seasons.
Beams appears to be tremendous value, and looks good since relinquishing the Captaincy, but there is always that injury cloud floating over his head!
Zorko I expect to play out the season from here in that 100-105 area.
Lambert could be a good pick for those wanting floating M/F cover/loophole opportunities, though I'm not sure if I was having a good season I'm not sure I would have the confidence to sit him at F6. Your M9/F7 loophole idea is perfect.

Hi Seedsman,
I've never been a Walters fan, as I don't think he posts enough monsters to make up for his "loose cannon" problems, so I say Menegola.

I think the Gibbs Martin combo has too many risks, and while Shuey has been inexplicably bad, I think I prefer Shuey with Neale or JPK.

I'm a bit worried about Oliver. He seems to have gone off the boil, and I'm not sure if it is all catching up with him, or he's carrying a niggle or two. Either way, he seems a bit risky to my eye at the moment.

Thanks row for your reply. I hope your enjoying nyc.

Do you think Lloyd is a must have? He will be priced around 590k or do you think we will be able to get him a bit cheaper before round 20? Do you also think the likes of Webster and tmac can compete with Lloyd?
