just read on Fox Sports site that Bravi and Adil Rashid are playing for the Stars.

Heat chasing More Morkel.

Mitchell Johnson has retired as the new season is too long.

And Lynnsanity will be playing for Queensland in the domestic one day comp for the first time since 2015.
Did MJ retire or is he playing in Dubai?

Afghanistan , Ireland and Zimbabwe have no international commitments during the Big Bash so would love to see Nabi , ur Rehmann , Stirling , Raza and Lamichhane from Nepal signed

WICB have spoken to Bravo , Narine , Pollard about their futures but they will have to play Super50's in October to be available.

WI play England Jan to Mar , schedule to be announced which will affect many so they may just be signed short term like you said.

McCullum , Morkel , Ingram , McClenaghan have all retired so they should be here for the duration. the duration.

Time will tell who is signed

I thought i read the UAE comp starts during our T20, could be wrong
Last I knew they were still waiting to finalise the Pak v Aus & Pak v NZ dates.

Think the T10 series is on soon expanded to 2 new teams , Hurricanes Academy side is playing a T20 comp over there in Oct , I thought it was on around Oct -Nov.

I think the SA Global T20 series overlaps the start of the Big Bash and the BPL has been moved to January due to elections.

correct

5 teams playing H & A over 24 days in December & January (can't find exact dates) , be interesting who they sign up.

Cricket Australia need to look st creating a window for Big Bash and making all our players available for the whole tournament and paying overseas players a lot more

Wonder where the Windies bats for hire end up signing

Just reading through some of the articles on the BBL page, sounds like David Willey might be back for the Scorchers. Will get called up for international duty at some point but sounds like England will be playing tests first on their tour so we would have a fair run with him in our squads if we start him. Was a pretty good all rounder iirc.

Joe Root, England's Test captain, and Jos Buttler have signed to play for Sydney Thunder in the 2018-19 Big Bash League. Both players will be available for seven games before heading to the West Indies with England in January.

West Indies tour dates of Bangladesh

1st Test Nov 22 - 26
2nd Test Nov 30-Dec 4

ODI Dec 9, 11, 14
T20 Dec 17, 20, 22

A return to the West Indies ODI team is a distinct possibility for the Bravo brothers, Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard, following discussions between the players and Cricket West Indies (CWI). The development could potentially pave the way for the players to be involved in the 2019 World Cup.

The development has been aided by a board decision to move their next domestic 50-over competition to October this year, instead of February 2019 - a switch that means there will be minimal clash between the Super50 and the various domestic Twenty20 leagues Caribbean stars are such an integral part of.

The players have been asked to play in the Super50, perform and push for a recall.

UAE T20x Tournament is scheduled for Dec 19-Jan 11

5 teams , squads of 16 consisting of :-

6 International players
2 emerging players from ICC Full Members
3 players from IC Associate Members
2 junior players
3 local UAE players

good to see players from the non-Test teams getting a opportunity

"Icon" players signed so far are David Miller , Andre Russell & Eoin Morgan

may have massive impact on Big Bash

cross off another one :-(

Sydney Sixers were recently snubbed by West Indies spinner Sunil Narine due to the disparity in money, with the world's best T20 performers now expected to head to the UAE T20X and then the Bangladesh Premier League, which begins on January 10 and concludes on February 17.

lots of thinking to do for CA
* need to increase the amount they are offering overseas players (and seek tax concessions)
* reduce the number of teams
* reduce the length of the season
* create a "window" so our Test/ODI players are available to play the full seasons, quite absurd that you run a domestic competition without your own players being involved, need to start after the Sydney Test or do they move Boxing Day and New Years Test and saturate the holiday period with double header Big Bash games ?
* and get on the phone to the BCCI and get them to allow the Indians to play, imagine the MCG with Dhoni 5 times a season

Appears the UAE is offering players 2-3 times as much as Big Bash for a season that is half it's duration.....not hard to see where players will go

I hope that's a typo! :p
I better dust off the whites then and get to the Nets if that is the case, oil rich countries offering absurd amounts of money for 3 hours of hit and giggle.

Morgan is getting $ 270,000.00 pounds for 3 weeks (not sure how much that is in Aussie dollars), might even be tax free, suspect Miller and Russell will be getting paid something similar.

Talk that Smith and Warner are high on their radars.

I was going to post you today

A Hall, B Crouch, Hanners, Libba, Scully, Miles (all between $ 300 - $ 400 k)talk about midfield mayhem madness starting midfield :) only need 5 rookies now

Given that article on the optimum starting side, seems midfield madness is the way to go, who needs premiums and rookies to start, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Great article though

Mitchell Marsh Captain , Klinger going around again , Bancroft also named.

Interesting that Kelly was not in the 16 Scorchers players although if Behrendorff , Coulter-Nile & Paris are all fit plus Richardson , Tye & Willey , Voges will have a hard time fitting them all in.

Wonder if they will sign a second international this season.
