Keen to see the players who had a significantly better second half to the season than the first.

In 2017 we had Sicily for example. This year Dunkley and Brayshaw spring to mind.
Without looking at the stats I would check Adams, Merrett, Neale, Parker, Wingard, Billings, Hawkins, Goldstein, Lloyd, Yeo, Riewoldt, Crisp and even Grundy.
Don’t think they reach the heights of Dunkley and Brayshaw’s splits though.

What I would be interested to see is some kind of analysis of the various clubs coaching panels. Not sure which way would be best to do this or even if it is possible. For example Blake Caracella is a senior coach in waiting. The year he arrives at Richmond they win a premiership. Not saying it was just him-far from it. But Hardwicke did not suddenly wake up one morning and go "I know what the answer is!" and suddenly became a top coach. Likewise the Pies had a revamp of the assistant coaches and they got to a GF and I think the influence of Sam Mitchell at the Eagles was considerable. Winning more games means usually you have more of the ball and that equals more SC points (imo).

This year will be much interested in how Brett Ratten goes at St Kilda. I think he did a much better job at the Blues than people give him credit for and his time at the Hawks will be invaluable.

I have a running argument with a guy I have to put up with each week that Richmond coached Hardwick! :cautious:

I agree with you on Ratten.
I think he's a great Midfield coach, and does a great job wherever he is!

Hi THCLT,
only If possible, could you please do the following:

Are there common denominators, in game stats, for Midfield Players whose season’s avg were 115+ SC pts, maybe based on the past 5 years?

Could any other attributes like Age, Character, Determination, etc. be included?

If you like, maybe categorise the common denominators in ‘All Have’ and ‘Most Have’.

I'm not sure either Langford of Parish will be the typical break-out player for ESS. Both are reasonable players, Parish, more so. I've never been a huge fan of Langford, primarily because he struggles to get the 'hard ball'. I like the look of James Stewart and Shaun McKernan though.

I am more likely to think that Francis/Clarke/McGrath will be our ones with Hurls, Smith and Zerrett (and Sheil/Crouch.. if trade talks are to be believed) the top 3 SC picks to choose from IMO.

Hope this helps..
Loved what I saw from Francis... Think he's the one. 86, 94 and 104 to finish the year.

Having said that, not sure how Gleeson back affects his role.

I missed the 2nd half of this year (I was O/S) so I didn't get to see much of Francis, but I'm glad he is feeling better and is back to playing good footy. For Essendon's sake, I hope he makes Adelaide and Port pay for not wanting a bar of him in the trade period (He wanted to go back home), which will be great for us! Sheedy reckons he could be the next Essendon champion (akin to Duckworth and Neale Daniher)

He is one I will be keeping on my to watch list, for sure... only concern is he may be pretty heavily priced... He's already 329k....

Yes, I agree, not sure how Gleeson coming back, affects him. Unfortunately, I think this is why we got rid of Goddard (not that I think that was the best idea mind you) to free up spots in our back 6..

Fascinated by all the data that comes with fantasy footy, hope this isn't off-topic but where would one easily acquire the statistics of every player in previous seasons gone? As in a data dump/spreadsheet. I'm aware there's various websites available but none I've used have great usability for comparing multiple players and finding trends.

Scores, games played, buying price, home/away... across multiple years are probably the most relevant.

I assume Champion Data wouldn't really willingly release this as they want to sell their own prospectus, but I just want to use in my own research.

I did have the prior two seasons, every players score, position and round etc.

But upon my old university winding up my gmail account I lost my spreadsheet through the google drive account, even though I transferred it to my current account prior to it being deleted. No idea how it happened but I'm shattered haha.

Tweet from FanFooty earlier today:

It appears our ISP has suddenly gone out of business after 20 years, without telling anyone. Our servers may or may not be getting installed at another ISP's location. Updates when we know what is happening. ????

Did anyone have an excel with all the SC averages from 2018 which they would be willing to share? :)

Footywire has them and they are easy to copy and paste.
Thanks

Sorry I was a bit unclear in my request. I was after every score from 2018 for each player in an excel file, if anyone had it :)
