Hi guys,
As some of you, I am very much into my supercoach draft and I was thinking there could be a place to discuss potential players who may be good options for the later rounds and also strategies going into the draft. I have a 5-7-1-5 format with 10 teams coming up and would love to hear some ideas that you all have.
I have pick 2 and know Danger is going at pick 1, so I will be jumping on Grundy to lock up my ruck for the year (hopefully) then look to build around that. Defence does look very solid to me this year, so if the teams around me are kind, will try and go Grundy, D1, M1

Newnes I think is a good sleeper for the bench.

Fantasia too if he’s available late.

Same as yours, 5-7-1-5 with 4 on the bench.
We have 12 teams in the league though, so we have to bat fairly deep!
Yeah 12 teams is tough, what pick do you have? And who are you looking at round 1?

We work out our picks on the day, hopefully not 12 like last year!
I'd rather not say yet who I'll target, I'll share my notes/thoughts after the draft though for sure ;)

I have a keeper league thats going into its 5th year , we have 10 teams with the 5-7-1-5 and 4 bench.
Every year we get to keep maximum of 50% of our squads and then draft order is reverse from previous seasons finish positions, i have pick 10 this year after taking the flag. Fun way to play as you get to pick guys like Petracca and hold on to them in hope of being a superstar.
My starting 11 are -
Fyfe
Sidebottom (already booked for trade straight after draft is completed to Taranto)
D.Smith
T.Kelly
Hannebery
Whitfield
Crisp
J.Mcgovern
Petracca
Wingard
Lynch (rich)

Dropped players like Wines, Libba, Bruest, Redden, Sinclair.

With all the top rucks already picked and retained each year i will leave that spot to last to fill and if no ruck worth getting i will play with a donut and take the lowest of scores on my bench :p
I will try and target a few guys i have dropped seeing as 9 of the best players in draft pool will be gone by my pick, and i always start with mids and then look for break out defenders like Crisp last year, Alir Alir looks like a target . With Kelly getting DPP i dont need to worry about picking a fwd till its time for bench spot and guys like Menzel and Acres should go later in draft.

Hey lads,

Had the draft yesterday, some interesting picks as usual! I'll list the top 50, then if you're interested in particular players I can let you know.

Danger, Grundy, Gawn, Oliver, Kelly, Cripps, Macrae, Neale, Fyfe, Dusty, Sidebottom, Laird, Treloar, Yeo, Coniglio, Lloyd, Whitfield, Merrett, Goldy, S Martin, McEvoy, Heppell, Gaff, Bont, Parker, M Crouch, Sicily, Ross, Nankervis, Heeney, Ward, Duncan, Brayshaw, Selwood, McLean, Pendles, Westhoff, Dev Smith, Menegola, Simpson, Higgins, Buddy, Dunkley, Wingard, Gray, Sloane, Hurn, T Mac, Zorko, Gunston

We got sucked into picking mediocre rucks very early, I took Nankervis and really could/should have waited far later.
I was shattered to be 1 pick later (I took Neale at 8 and Wingard at 44, missing Macrae at 7 and Dunkley at 43... basically summed up my day!
Unfortunately the mids were the main struggle (which I should have prepared and then drafted better for (7 each in a 12-man league means you're ending up with some massive spuds at the end of the draft...)

Blokes I had earmarked for better seasons (and would hopefully slide) were:
Dunkley (picked 43rd)
Taranto (69th)
J Short (113th)
Parfitt (164th)
Shiel (64th)
Steele (79th)
Redden (61st)
Zorko (49th)
Curnow (149th)
Gresham (183rd)
Milera (197th)
Miles (125th)

And then the underperformers from last year:
Hibberd, Billings, Rockliff, Hannebery, B Ellis, Dahlhaus etc

You guys should definitely be looking into running your draft games in an auction style. Snake seems so bad once you do it.

Yeah we did the 'bonzai' style, which means rd 2 is repeated then it snakes after that.
I'd like to try a keeper league, not sure how to go about it though!
