not sure if I would call it fun , think the year I tried to play it had about 2-3 rounds with half my team missing then just gave up.

I am sure people that spend time planning and researching would be very good at this format.
It can be tough but it all comes down to planning and no one really ever has 17 in each bye round. Do you take it seriously?

No not at all , I tried playing it in 2012/2013 when living in Sydney but lack of research proved my downfall.

Will make a team this year but will probably spend 10-15 minutes on it.

I am sure if you research and plan it will be a lot of fun and frustration.

Take my feedback with a grain of salt as I wouldn't have a clue as I'm just basing my selections off ownership percentages, what Pookus said and the stats found from NRL Supercoach Stats website mentioned in an earlier post.

An option could be Crichton to C Murray freeing up approximately 200,000 allowing K Mann to be traded to J Bateman/C Gutherson thus strengthening your CTW. Apart from that I like most of your selections.
I think Afoa to Murray is a much better trade. Crichton will definitely score more points then Bateman.

First ever team draft completed! and open for feedback. (Definitely needed)

It sounds like taking more risk by spending less in CTW could be a way to go, but I may have taken this too far?!

Hodgson (Radley*)
A Fifita, Taupau (Paseka, Haas)
A Crichton, Arrow, Pangai (Stimson*, Afoa*, Nikora)
Cleary (Harris-Tavita)
Moylan (D Brown)
Capewell, Mann, Abbey, Lomax (A Hopoate, Xerri, C Allan)
Trbojevic (Tedesco*)

Just about settled on my team but I would appreciate if @Pookus McFly or any other NRL SC players could help solve my conundrum regarding which trio combination I should start:

A. J Trbojevic, M Gillett, B Hampton
VS
B. J Trbojeivc, A Tolman, J Bird
VS
C. V Kikau, J Stimson, E Marsters

Oo this is a tricky one A) could go well if Gillett gets back to his old scores immediately and Hampton gets the fullback gig, but Gillett had a fractured cervical vertebrae and 12 months on the sidelines, not many injuries are worse than that so even though he is rediciulously underpriced for what he used to do, I would not go near him to start the season.

B) has the much better forwards than C), as in JTrbo + Tolman > Kikau + Stimson, but Bird was just so terrible last year- and though some expect improvement, I am staying away until I see it; whilst on the other hand, Marsters was a weapon and should finish as one of the top 3 centres.

In the end, I think Stimson is a pretty important mid ranger to pick up if he gets that 80 minute gig on the edge so I think C) has to be the best pick.

Are there other combinations you can get? Each combo for me seems to have one weakish player. There may be savings that can be made in other areas of your team which would allow you to upgrade a player
Of the players above i would rate them

Fwds
JTurbo
Kikau
Gillett (depend on pre season form/fitness)
Tolman
Stimson

CTW
Marsters
Hampton
Bird

Thanks @Pookus McFly.

Was playing around with combos and I'm able to fit in all of JTurbo, Tolman, Stimson and Marsters by trading J Arrow to J Stimson.
This will give me a playing 17 of C Smith, V Radley, A Fifita, M Taupau, A Tolman, J Trbojevic, T Pangai, C Murray, J Stimson, N Cleary, M Morgan, E Marsters, C Gutherson, J Bateman, K Capewell, M Moylan S Drinkwater.

Can't fault a thing with that lineup, looking pretty damn good to be honest, Only ones there that I would not be 100% would be Moylan and Gutherson, and even then I would not bat an eyelid if they went well this year. Gutherson used to kick goals and was a semi-gun back then, but didn't quite cut mustard last year without GK duties, also moved around different positions a lot. I am pretty hot on Arrow myself, but he is certainly by no means a must-have. Him and Victor Radley are my NRL man-crushes. Just be aware Drinkwater might lose out on the FB gig to Hughes. If he does get it though, he will be one of the best pickups in SC, he has only played the one game of NRL but his stats in lower grades are pretty compelling- Future gun for sure. Great 17!

Thanks. Will likely sit on this current lineup until the upcoming preseason matches. Gutherson and Moylan have featured in all my iterations and will be very interesting to see if I keep Stimson, Tolman and Marsters as those 3 positions are the only ones that keep featuring several players rotating through.

Also what's your thoughts on J Manu as an alternative to E Marsters as it would allow Stimson to J Arrow.
In the article link below they mentioned that "from round 14, he became permanently entrenched in the #4 jersey inside Blake Ferguson, which saw him average 58.8PPG (and notch four tries) for the rest of the season with a remarkable 62PPG across the final two months".

Been a while since I dabbled in the supercoach version of NRL fantasy (been an nrl.com player for all of my career with 1-2 seasons on Supercoach) so I will need to get used to the scoring system again.

Give me a week until after BBL fantasy is done and I'll get my draft team together. I look forward to the chopping and changing that will occur in the next month!

Manu was great toward the end of the year, but he also had 4 tries in his last 7 games, having only scored 2 in the whole season previously (18 games). I just don't see him scoring well without relying on tries. Marsters only scored 3 tries all season and still put up consistent gun scores because he is a solid defender and makes a lot of tackles as well as palming people off for tacklebreaks, runs 100m+ most games too. Those are stats you can bank on. No contest between the two to my mind. Would definitely take Marsters + Stimson.
