Archie Smith played 16% TOG after getting hit in the throat and ending up in hospital. Essentially Martin was playing sole Ruck.
Still had 5 hitouts in that time, so it was being shared around a bit early, I guess the key thing for me is the possession count. I’d not be just relying on him getting hitouts to score well.

I don't know if this is the right thread to ask but could anyone inform me on which team has the best draw this year, ie, plays the most Sunday and latest games of the round for the C & VC loophole? I am planning on selecting the cheapest ruck rookie to use for the loophole. Thanks in advance.

Anyone see the Freo game yesterday think much of Sean Darcy? Was clinging onto the notion of him at R2... seems to be fading.

Didn’t watch the game but some of the Freo BF boards were quite scathing of his performance. Many thought Jones did better in the ruck during the previous JLT match. May have been a little rusty, so who knows. I was also of the same opinion, and was hoping to see a more positive performance.

I keep asking,

Will the "new" rules impact/reduce ruck scoring overall (% of the 3300 points each week)

Possibly but JLT is generally "bruise free", so less tackles, less stoppages I'd think. There may be more CBs if games are more high scoring.

TBH not sure yet ... don't think we've seen enough of a sample size thus far in the JLT
.. I say this because:

- Most key rucks look to be taking it easy in these games and I don't blame them
- Haven't seen two key rucks really go H2H yet ...
- Not sure about the stoppage numbers yet but haven't really noticed a massive decline .... less repeats at centre bounces probably though
- One could possibly argue that more centre clearances could equate to actually more of them over the duration of a game
- One could also argue more HOTA with more centre clearances ...
- Haven't really seen too many cases of taking direct possession of the ball yet by rucks ...

In a nutshell I've got no idea yet ... think we are all going in blind ...

The fact I have 1.2m to spend on two rucks and can’t afford the top two still blows my mind.

I feel like Gawn and Grundy will make or break this season.

Start them and they don’t perform = sunk

Don’t start them and they go close to replicating last year = sunk

I look forward to starting the wrong (n ) one(s).
Realistically I can only start one, it hurts the team structure that I want to have too much with both. Not sure which one though.....

Yes, the lack of quality cheap rookies combined with a Gawn/Grundy combo makes the rest of team quite difficult to put together without mid-price mayhem I am finding.... but I see no reason not to jump on board and ride it out!!!

I don't think you are sunk under scenario 1 because it every decent team will have one of them and the majority will have both. A lot will quickly shift down if there is an obvious alternative and extract the cash before it disappears.

It would be better to avoid and will cost an extra trade but that won't sink your season.

Your scenario 2 could sink your season.

Sorry, broad generalisation

Should have just said most “serious” teams.

Some serious very decent teams could have neither like yours :)

Point being having one or both will be a popular set up so if it goes south it affects most teams

I don’t know that I agree, I think if you were to pick two alternatives that go well and then invest the spare cash into quality on the other lines it could win it for you this year. That’s assuming Gawn and Grundy to tits up of course which is a very big if. High risk, but high reward (especially if you get your other selections right).
