Joined the league. I know nothing about NRL and one watch 4 games a year (Origin and GF) but am happy to give it go. Would appreciate any feedback because I have no idea what I'm doing.
I'm in the same boat regarding no idea about the game but an option could be:

Downgrading your Hooker Cook to K Holland freeing up 300,000.

B Cartwright to C Murray will leave you approximately 80,000.

Downgrading C Munster to M Morgan by moving K Ponga to FB and selecting M Morgan as your 5/8 will free up 140,000 increasing your remaining salary to 220,000.

This could be used to trade Zelezniak to E Marsters/C Gutherson/J Bateman which will leave you with approximately 30,000/150,000/190,000.

Apart from that I really like the rest of your selections.

Sorry I meant in the actual 21 man squads that the teams announce.

In the actual game we get the 13 onfield + our 4 nominated reserves then the 18th scorer is that the highest score from our left over players ?

Cheers
Oh. The reserves are just there in case anyone in warmup goes down injured. The reason there are 4 is so they can cover any eventuality.

For SuperCoach, the auto-emergency only occurs if you have a zero on your field (I’m not 100% sure if it’s reserves as well, might need to look it up). You only get an auto-emergency for the position your zero comes from.

So if you have a ctw player who scores 0, you only get an auto-emergency from another ctw player.

Awfully hard to see. I think that saving pictures as jpg works far better for posting than png.

Rookiewise ditch Cartwright, Lomax, Xerri and Allen for kamikamica, Nikora, Ravalawa and ???. Maybe keep Allen then.

How much do you have in the bank? You seem short of a 2nd Rower.

Edit: ...........and what Connoisseur said. ;)

Thanks for that.

Similar to AFL emergency.

So Fantasy wise 13 onfield scores + the 4 Reserves we select = 17.

I will have a read through tomorrow.

Cheers

Very hard to fault.

An option could be to switch K Capewell to 2RF via B Nikora thus brining CNK on in the CTW and having Capewell as your reserve on the 2RF. Really like your FB and Hooker choices.

Thanks. Just looking at it I've got a lot of DPP flexibility. It almost comes across as if I know what I'm doing.

Almost. :p

Edit: This is a very good distraction from obsessing over my AFL SC team.

Current team and very happy with my 17 but hopefully I don't get left too far behind going in without any of C Smith, D Cook, J Tedesco or K Ponga. K Ponga and L Mitchell will be my first upgrade targets for CNK and a CTW cheapie to complete my 17.

Is Tatola to Haas the plan in round 4 or so? I had Bateman and Moylan up until TLT, then went the big guns at Full Back. Is Sivo a better option than Flegler?

Edit: Sivo in the starting 13 and Flegler on the interchange until Haas returns in round 4. Answer: Yes, Sivo is a better option. :)

To the 1st question yes. Noticed he was one of the players priced between 200,000 and 230,000 with a starting role and averaged 24 points from 26 minutes last year. Unsure about the price changes but hopefully can make approximately 80,000+ when traded to P Haas.

To the 2nd question I'm . Will have to look back through your above post on the listed teams and possibly find out their job security.

Bit earlier than I said I was going to post, but this is what I've decided on so far post team announcements:

Hookers: Koroisau (Holland)
FRF: Fifita, Taupau (Napa, Host)
2RF: J.Trbojevic, Lane, Hess (Murray, Garner, Burr)
HB: Johnson, (Keighran)
5/8: Moylan, (D.Brown)
CTW: Addo-Carr, S.Mata'utia, J.Bateman, Capewell, (Garrick, Nikora, Ravalawa)
FB: Gutherson, (Nicoll-Klokstad)

39,300 leftover

Now this is probably a very different side to what you will see as I've forgone some of the best FB and hooker options in favour of some of the mid-priced players that I believe will perform well early season. I would recommend not going with what I've done as it could be a massive backfire if things don't work out! On the flipside, I will have a lot of heavy scorers if it does go well.

There's a surprising amount of Sharks players in my team which wasn't intentional, as there is some great value in Nikora and Capewell who are starting in the absence of Wade Graham. The fact they play some weaker defences in early matches has also got me excited at the potential for Johnson, Moylan and Fifita who are all primed for big seasons.

I've gone heavy in 2RF and FRF, so I'm hoping it pays off for me. I've gone for CTW's that are 2nd rowers as I'm hoping for consistent points rather than the odd big score and nothing in between.

Cheapies wise I've gone pretty standard to what others will have gone. Keighran, Brown and Nikora should see decent job security. Garrick, Ravalawa, Burr, Host and Garner may see less time when their teams are at full strength, but I'm happy to ride the wave and adjust if need be. If anyone has questions about why I've gone this way, go for it.

As an aside if people prefer to see the teamlists side by side here's the link:

I like that option. Tatola to Haas at round 7 and pocket the cash. To fund it, Bateman back in for Manu as his DPP is handy and out goes Kerr who is a reserve.

I answered my own 2nd question.

Tatola:
2018:
When playing more than 40 mins: 33 from 2 (low of 32 and a high of 34)
When playing more than 30 mins: 29.29 from 7 (low 25 and a high of 32, 4/7 30+)

5/23 matches below 20.

Hopefully with increased minutes he could up the average to the 40+ range.

I’d be wary of Tatola as well. George Burgess is due back round 3, so he won’t see a huge amount of minutes in comparison to the first two rounds.

It’s the same issue I’ve got with Burr with Papali’i, but he’s a bit cheaper so I’m going to ride that option.

Under the team lists it's says Burgess is back in round 4. Is that not the case? I thought he got 4 weeks for eye gouging and was to miss the first three weeks of the NRL season.

My bad, read it as back round 3, not missing 3 rounds.

There’s always a degree of risk with FRF and 2RF cheapies at the beginning of a season, so 3 rounds starting sounds a heck of a lot better than 2 rounds.

That makes the world of difference for his price rise. Thanks for clarifying.

Does anyone know if there is a site which gives predicted prices like TooSerious does for the AFL Supercoach.

Plenty of space and plenty of novice players. Don't be afraid because most of us are winging it and don't know how you get 5/8 ths of a hooker and get half back. :p You want to be front row for this!
