The AFL will introduce ‘AFL Edge’ in Thursday night’s season opener, a system which is being touted as their version of cricket’s ‘Snickometer’.

According to afl.com.au, microphone technology will be integrated into goalposts to decide whether or not a ball has touched the post. The audio from these microphones will be used alongside the Hawk-eye video feed, to solve questionable decisions.

The system will only be used at venues which have goal line cameras installed, including the MCG, Marvel Stadium, Optus Stadium and Adelaide Oval.

Smaller venues such as Blundstone Arena in Hobart and UNSW Canberra Oval will not have the technology.

The powers that be obviously know more than me but i can't see how this would work. There will be players touching the post for one.

Looks like 'Perfect 9' has been scrapped. The jackpot never went off. Disappointing that they didn't roll it over in to this season. Like next Tuesday's $70 million Oz Lotto, it will go off eventually. And you would think the higher the jackpot the more people would be having a crack at it.

You just can't have different rules! The rules have to be the same for every game.

Just more half arsed crap from the AFL. Introduce some new technological angle that is not really needed, but don't think it through properly and only have it available for some games and not others. Dead from the neck up ....

Has anyone noticed the crappy new "traffic lights" on the SC Team page? The green light (with a white tick) is very pale and very difficult to see. I much preferred the darker solid green dot which was in place last. Does anyone else have a problem with this?

Has anyone noticed anything strange about the price change projections in SC Gold?
I was just comparing the projections for Saints rookies Wilkie & Joyce and they come up with very different Round 3 price projections, despite being priced almost the same and scoring almost the same as well in Rnd 1

Wilkie $124.9k SC 70 Rnd 3 increase $61.2k
Joyce $123.9k SC 67 Rnd 3 increase $20.3k

Something does not look right here

Does anyone else see the same results when they look at the projections?
If this is indicative of a bug in the SC projections, it may be a good idea to not accept everything at face value

Note - I think I have identified the problem. It seems that Wilkie's projected score has been updated to 70 to reflect his round 1 score, however Joyce is still projected to score 25, despite scoring 67 on the weekend. I have spot checked a few other rookies and it seems there might be a few other inconsistencies with the projected scores.

Yep you're right, Wilkie's projected score is based off his R1 score (the only game of his career), whereas Joyce's projected score of 25 is takes into account his previous career games.
