He played for Casey in the VFL last season and was one of the best in that team. We had been linked to him all pre-season and I was surprised we didn’t take him in the rookie draft. Obviously he has found his way on to our list.

He isn’t tall but can play anywhere really aside from in the ruck. He is quick, has good skills and is good overhead. I’m actually not too sure what role he will play for the Dees. I reckon he is in the team for Spargo so perhaps we’ll see him play that pressure forward role with stints elsewhere.
Pressure forward doesn't sound good for his scoring potential.

Named on field in the defence, a rebounding role would be good. Matured aged as well. Big watch as I may need to correct him for Hore.

Yeah rebounding from defence would be better for SC but looking at the the 22 who are playing tonight I think it’s more likely he’s forward.

Perhaps he will switch with Hunt throughout the game in defence and forward. Who knows though.

Interesting! Thanks for the insight. Thought he might've been pushing Hore out but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I've traded him in blind for RDT (I'm a bit more of a risk taker there). Had Pierce R2 so had to find funds through Greene to Lockhart. I'll keep my R2 a mystery for now (anyone in the SCS RDT league can find out though haha)

Anyone with Bailey Smith going to keep the faith? (I know that's not many of you). Watched nearly all of the game against Hawks and he looks very classy and was able to find his teammates by hand or foot with ease. Would be ideal if he could find the pill a bit more, although seemed to be in the right spots and ran to his advantage to gain another possie. 6 of his 13 touches were contested with no clangers and at a whopping 92% efficiency. Only 63% tog. Pity about the 33 in round 1. May not make a heap of cash early. Is it a mistake to keep him in my side considering I don't have Butters or Duursma or LDU?

I'm not sure we should get too sucked in with such a small sample size. I know there's nothing else to go on but no doubt the rookies will fluctuate week in week out. LDU I still think will put in some stinkers but to be fair I haven't watch a Kangas game so probably not qualified to comment.

I think he's still rookie roulette

Perhaps - but a rookie scoring a ton in round 2 is generally the best to take with any correction trade

While not with 100s as its his second year in the system I think he is likely to be more consistent than some of the other midfield rookies who've played 2 games

Yep but is still relative to his starting price and the 100 will drop out pretty quickly of his rolling average but you're right. I still think it's risky sideways trade unless it's for a non-playing rookie.

I have him and really like him. Think he will continue to improve.

Still undecided if I go him to LDU.

Just quickly, does anyone have numbers on cash gen if Smith averaged 75 and LDU averaging 80 at round 9.

Cheers.

I have Smith and still think he's worth keeping, but I think 75 may be a little optimistic, nonetheless seems a capable type :

After playing round 9 I think , Smith @75 approx $330k and LDU @ 80 approx $370k

Is that 75 and 80 from here on or if they were to have a total average of 75 and 80 respectively.

Have got the cash to go Atkins to LDU. Atkins looks like a slow burner. Anyone got any feedback on Atkins form and JS. Haven't caught any Cats games so far.
