With those funds in the upcoming rounds they could be utilised to upgrade Host and Flegler as the rest should still be appreciating. An option could be J Host to A Crichton or D Brown to J Issako when he drops to low or below 400,000's via several DPP switches which would still allow Host to someone in the 450,000's before a trade.

Or you could keep Keighran this week to wait another week on CHT and upgrade Napa to Crichton, etc.

I guess most of you are bringing in Okunbor this week. As I’ve already got him I’m going with:

Lane > Klemmer
Moylan > Ponga

Keen to go Keighran > CHT and then Friend/McCullough > cook next week.

Then I’ve got to start figuring out what my trades going into the bye rounds are going to look like. Whether to conserve trades and whatever else comes up.

Does anyone know the expected return for J Friend as I can't find any info?

Currently fielding B Smith as my HOK with a remaining 16 of A Fifita, M Taupau, A Tolman, J Trbojevic, J Arrow, S Lane, C Murray, B Nikora, J Okunbor, N Cleary, M Morgan, E Marsters, C Gutherson, J Bateman, CNK and J Tedesco.

Ponga will be in next week thus pushing 1 player out of my 17 and with Tatola, Ravalawa and Sivo set to earn 150,000+ when traded means I will likely target a trade in of C Smith/D Cook for B Smith in RD8.

From what I’ve seen they expect friend back next week. He was an outside chance this week, but they’ve taken precautions. I’m hoping this means that friend’s injury issues will cease, but that never means anything (see tommy turbo).

How much cash you have Herbie? You might be able to upgrade one of your Frf players if you make some cash this week.

Thanks. Hopefully he returns next week as well as being able to execute the C Smith/D Cook selection in RD8 which would give me a team (rd8) of

2RF: J Trbojevic, J Arrow, S Lane, (C Murray, J Okunbor, rookie)
HFB: N Cleary, (CHT)
5/8: K Ponga, (M Morgan)
CTW: E Marsters, C Gutherson, J Bateman, B Nikora, (B Xerri, rookie, rookie)
FB: J Tedesco, (CNK)

Host out would be the obvious option and I’m sure you’ve thought about it already. Burgess is likely to come down a touch after the next couple weeks as his 120 odd is out of his 3 game average now, so might be an idea to wait to snap him up.

The other option is Taupau. He hasn’t set the world on fire but he plays the round 12 bye round. If you can’t afford to upgrade host to burgess, I’d go for Taupau instead.

Your team is actually set up beautifully for the round 12 bye if you make 1-2 trades to add players for that particular round.

Thanks for that , to be totally honest have not given any consideration to the bye rounds at all ? , just been fixing up a couple of injuries and adjusting my rookies.

All the new /good rookies seem to be CTW.

How does the scoring work for the Byes ? is it still 17 players ?

after bringing Okunbor & Ponga in I will have $ 312,900.00

Probably go CHT and get a better FRF.
An option next week/next fortnight could be Garrick to J Issako/ L Mitchell as both will be heavily discounted from their starting price.

Or via C Allan you could save up for J Tedesco.

In regards to FRF and 2RF I think M Taupau and A Crichton will be great options and S Burgess should be able to be picked off cheaper later on.

The scoring for byes is as normal, but there are less games, so it means it’s very important to have as many players playing in the byes as possible. Having between 12-15 is ideal.

If you have more than that it’s either because you have planned it from the beginning, or you have sacrificed points in previous rounds to get the 16-17. The 2nd bye looks trickier to cover than the first with the teams that are playing.

That said, I wouldn’t let it affect your trades too much, it’s more of a thing to keep an eye on if you’d like to finish higher overall.

That's alright. If Issako drops below 400,000 then it's extremely likely that I'll bring him in for Ravalawa and if my memory serves me correct the Broncos were regarded as having one of the toughest opening draws.

If it wasn't for Ponga's price drop, Crichton would have been a near certainty to come in this week/next and also another one to keep an eye on would be V Kikau who just returned from injury last weekend.
