Yeah the only reason I'm putting so much emphasis on trades is because in previous seasons its gotten to the last couple of weeks and we have run out of trades and then all of a sudden injuries occur to key players in most people's sides. But yes I do agree that there seems to be a lot of rookies doing well which means you have decent cover if this scenario were to happen, so trades are maybe not so important this season compared to others, but even if that's the case it's still very scary getting to that point of the season with no trades left and something to be mindful of when you are making your trades during the season.
That's why I've tried to be aggressive with some of the moves like getting rid of some slow generators in favour of the players with a negative breakeven (eg Tatola to Waddell last week).
I've currently got 25 trades left and by rd 12 will likely have 18-21 with premium cover on all lines except HOK,HFB and FB.

The plan by RD12 is to have a solid 21 consisting of C Smith, A Fifita, M Taupau, A Tolman, S Burgess, J Trbojevic, J Arrow, S Lane, J Taumalolo, V Kikau, C Murray, N Cleary, K Ponga, M Morgan, E Marsters, CNK, J Bateman, C Gutherson, B Ferguson, B Nikora and J Tedesco.

I'll try to keep that core 21 with D Cook and T Trbojevic the main targets for Egan and Allan to finish the side.

I'm not that bothered if I'm left with 0 in the pointy end as it usually happens in most formats a couple of weeks out and this season will be utilised as a learning experience to be applicable for next season in regards to whether certain strategies or plans were successful or not.

Can't decide on my trades this week. I have DCE out, but might hold and run with CHT until his situation is clear.

Weddell is probably worth bringing in.

To whom? Cleary not a good option this close to SOO. Could move Morgan to HLB but I can't see a viable cheap 5/8th. Hence the dilemma. Is there an expensive standout at 5/8th that I should grab?
If you don't already have Ponga nows your perfect chance to grab him. Otherwise Walker and Munster are other good options but Munster will probably play SOO and Walker is a shot.

AE is your lowest scoring NPR.

If you mean R. Toss of the coin.
Yeah, that's what I meant. edited.
I’d go haas in that situation. Safer of the two options. Who are your other reserves this week? Waddell does have a favourable game with the bulldogs where attacking stats could occur so if you’re unsure about the other reserves Waddell might be a fair option.
Could take Waddell over Okunbor.
Edit- was too slow so I've ended up without Haas but thanks anyway.

S Burgess looking like a good value premium for RD12 assuming he doesn't have a large game (70+) over the next 2-3 weeks as it should be an easy upgrade from Haas/etc.

I'd be keeping Haas as a reserve option, will hit 50+ every week and have the odd 70+ game with attacking stats.

P Hass is currently out of my 17 and if I selected Burgess for Haas he could be potentially pushing Lane/Murray out of the 17.

I've had Cook all year but I think I've only captained him when he's got his 50s-60s and missed all his big scores :/

Not often I get a decent captain option correct, but I'm happy I went with Cook this week straight out rather than VC'ing him.

4/401 with Cook (C), S.Burgess, C.Murray and Haas.

Yet to play: Morgan, C.Smith, Arrow, Nikora, Fifita, CNK, Taupau, Tedesco, Bateman, Ponga, Gutherson, Lane and one of Okunbor/Xerri (leaning towards Okunbor with the favourable matchup).

Pretty excited about the possibilities for this round, but just one game down, plenty of time for it to be derailed.

Ended up doing:
Out: Capewell, Garner
In: Waddell, Arrow

Tried everything to get Walker in but couldn’t make it work so skipped him in the end. No idea if Arrow is a true upgrade but haven’t had a chance to post until now.

Cook (c), Burgess, Murray for me last night so good start. Didn’t start Haas though.
