Greatly appreciate thoughts on the next couple of trades to complete my team.

Def: J Lloyd, R Laird, Z Williams, H Andrews, M Hore, X Duursma, (G Logue, R Gardner)
Mids: J Kelly, P Cripps, N Fyfe, J Macrae, L Neale, R Sloane, Z Merrett, C Oliver, (W Setterfield, O Baker, D Clarke)
Rucks: B Grundy, M Gawn, (P Bines)
Fwds: P Dangerfield, T Kelly, I Heeney, C Daniel, R Gray, J Westhoff, (C Burgess, R Young)

Trades left: 7
Remaining salary: 110,900

Options are:
A.
RD15: Out: X Duursma, C Burgess, In: L Ryan, N Hind (via W Setterfield)
Rd16: Out: O Baker, W Setterfield, In: M Owies and D Mundy
W Setterfield at F6 this round assuming the Hoff misses and L Ryan selected instead of S Hurn.
3 trades left with the opportunity to turn M Hore to S Hurn or J Westhoff to J Dunkley/etc.

B.
RD15: Out: C Burgess, In: N Hind (via W Setterfield)
Rd16: Out: W Setterfield, In: D Mundy
Rd17: Out: O Baker, X Duursma, In: M Owies/mid fwd loop rookie, S Hurn
Cash will likely be very tight as it depends on Baker making it to 240,000 to 250,000+ and Duursma and Hurn to maintain a differential of 165,000 to 180,000
3 trades left and same as Option A regarding options for the last 3 trades.

C. Hately over Hind using one of the above options but Option B would require an extra trade and leave me with 2 once it is executed.

far from me to offer you advise ?, you have these fantasy games mastered with detailed planning and thought.

your forwards look to be the line that could cause you short term pain with the Hoff , Burgess & Young.

I like your idea of trying to get Setterfield to F7 , option A think Duursma has done his job

Great looking team btw

Good luck

Tough one. If Logue hadn't shown up I would do option 2 happily and wait a week or two on Westhoff. I think Crouch is probably the best value premo pick in the comp at the moment, which is a good place to start. I don't mind option 1, but probably prefer to keep it simple by going with the higher-scoring mid-only option in Crouch. I would not do option 3 unless you basically saw Logue as equal to Andrews or better in terms of scoring. I'm a bit of a Logue skeptic. I will probably get him but not with the intention of playing him at D6. I would not do option 4 as I think you are likely to need those three trades for injuries and so would probably be stuck with Duursma at D6 for good.

I think I would do Duursma to M Crouch.

Then it depends on what you think of Logue and whether or not Naish survives this week. If you are only semi-enthusiastic on Logue and Naish gets named, I would let him slide and stick with that as your only trade for the week. If you really like Logue, or if Naish is dropped, do the Burgess to Logue trade as well.

Then I would wait a week on Westhoff. If he plays well in SANFL and there are good noises coming from the coaches, just stick with him and cross fingers. If he sort of disappears into the background, you probably just have to find the best value option for the price, or consider downgrading Setterfield and really riding your luck with injuries. Good luck!
Thanks a lot Stephen for your thoughts. I kind of thought the same but have kind of wavered a bit.

Looking at my team, I have 5 of the top 6 forwards in the comp and basically am suffering keeping Westhoff. Do I keep him and hope he comes back and keep playing Settlefield?

Andrews scored a majority of his points from intercept marks and intercept possessions. He doesn't get many cheap freebies, which is bad when the lions are playing well. It seems to me that he will remain inconsistent. I am seriously considering letting him go to strengthen my other lines - possibly looking at Lycett (as he can back up rucks - something Westhoff was meant to do) and Josh Kelly to finish off the mids.

Would someone be able to tell me if the forwards as a collective have outscored the backs this year? I keep thinking that the forwards a lot more consistent than the backs aside from 3 or 4 of the truly elite backs.

Thanks. Looking to negate the worry with the forward line by grabbing Mundy next week as he should drop another 10,000 or 20,000 for him to occupy F6 until Hoff returns and then I can loop both via R Young.

Good luck to you for the remainder of the season.

Anyone else looking at Rose?

I need to get money from Larkey and I have Younf at F8. Rose looked ok the last few games, feels like he spent a bit of time in the midfield 2nd rotation. No stats just observations mind...

I asked the question a couple of days ago but received no responses.
Aso have Larkey ready to be cashed in and need a forward rather a mid in Hately.
Do you see Rose as having good JS moving forward?

History says no, but future says yes. He's playing for his future, and showed some smart signs the last week or so. Buddy out and a midfield that isn't exactly firing has to help. 50k more than i want spend mind.

Is Rockliff to Sloane worth it? It only costs 40k and I can see Sloane outscoring Rockliff easily if Rocky doesn’t come back super fit. Adelaide also have a much easier draw than Port.

It leaves me with just 4 trades and then ROB to Grundy next week or the week after to complete my team with 3 trades left and Hore/Logue D6 and D7.

What do you guys think?
Hold the trade and look to move Hore to someone in a few weeks instead of Rockliff to Sloane??

Has a pretty good draw coming up soon as well hmm
Wonder if I should forgo Hately and grab Rose instead.

Hately probably goes as soon as Whitfield returns? Would be an easy downgrade at $117k, at almost $150k at this stage of the season with the byes gone and most mids completed, probably not so much.

Love it. Who knows if Rockliff will even come straight back in Port's best 22 next week, you'd hate to hold and see him playing in the SANFL for a couple of weeks.

Yeah would also love to get some insight on Rose. From what I saw from last week he looked ok.
Will the Swans continue to get games into him ? Anyone other than Rowbottom a threat to his spot ?
