I’m doing something a bit funky and trading out Cook for Fainu. Feel like Cook is going to leak a lot more cash with limited minutes this week and Fainu has just been given the sole hooker role at Manly for the next 3-4 rounds. Should mean I have a lot of cash to throw around and I have 13 trades left still to play with.
Cook is definitely playing 80 this week mate. He’s by far the the best hooker in Supercoach so I don’t see the benefit of trading him out, especially to a player who’s no guarantees to play 80 himself.

4 days after Origin, generally the worst sort of turnaround after a big match according to most players. He'll come off for a stint for sure this week. Fainu has no Koroisau who was his only competition for the role and has been killing it when on the field.

I'm not particularly worried if it doesn't come off, I've moved cash around this week to upgrade 2 other players in positions I'm weaker in. Probably grab Cook back in round 18-19 after Oriign is done and dusted.

He’ll come off for who? Souths have 4 forwards on their bench tonight. He’s definitely penciled in to play 80 unless injury occurs.

Don't be surprised to see Murray spend some time there as the forwards rotate.

Murray also played origin and has had a heavy workload over this origin period, so it’s not going to be him who gets extended minutes to replace Cook.

The way they’re lining up tonight suggests Cook is a lock to play 80, unless the game is a blow out and there’s an opportunity to play anybody at hooker in the closing stages of the match.

Doesn't have to be extended minutes for him to play at hooker for 15-20. You're probably right though, without the recognised backup hooker, its less likely to happen.

I wish I held off doing my trades in one big lump with the news that Hughes was out. I would have taken Papenhuyzen for the cash grab instead of RTS on my way to Turbo.

Papenhuyzen is done making any serious cash. He has a BE of 73 which he will be touch and go reaching. He’s a good option for the round 16 bye, but he’s not going to bridge the gap too much in your quest to get Trbo.

You're right, on closer inspection, but he is fun to have and root for.

Yeah absolutely. I’ve held onto him and played him tonight after hearing Hughes was out. He’s absolute class and should be a regular first grade fullback, but is unfortunately behind in the pecking order at Melbourne.

BE achieved. A couple of 70s and he is $505K. He has to be the FLB for the Storm from here on in, as Hughes has had some issues and can be used elsewhere, and he is dynamic in the position. He doesn't have a Turbo ceiling, however Turbo and Pap rather than Teddy could be the FLB combo going forward, especially if you have kept Pap and used the extra funds elsewhere.

Drinkwater had a great debut with the Cowboys.

Drinky will probably play fullback next week and Hughes into the halves to cover Munster being out, but after that I think Pap will return to the bench. I completely agree with you that it makes much more sense for him to be the number 1 fullback, but unfortunately Bellamy has a policy of not dropping a player until you let him down. Injury aside, Hughes has been more than serviceable at the back so can’t see him being dropped, unless it’s to replace Croft at halfback.

I’m a cowboys fan so was absolutely stoked with Drinkwater tonight. He looks a real talent, and will only get better as he gels with the team and develops his own game.

I think you meant Papy rather than Drinky (though that is the reason, hahaha). Serviceable doesn't fit Bellamy's MO given he has an X factor. Papy wins a Premiership at FLB, Hughes holds the ship in case of injury.

Yeah sorry, I meant Papy.

Agree to disagree mate. I think if Bellamy was ever going to drop Hughes it would have been after those two games Papy dominated in at the back after Hughes was out with injury. Hope I’m wrong though as I’ll be keeping Drinkwater as a POD as my second fullback.

He came back in and dropped balls. Bellamy is loyal so he kept him at FLB. He now has to put him into a centre after Origin given Papy's performance at FLB.

Nah, Papy is not a centre. Melbourne just signed Solomona Kate from the Warriors for that very reason so it’ll be him who slots in at centre.

I was referring to Hughes. Hughes moves to a centre.

He won’t be playing centre either.

I completely understand why you want Hughes out of the fullback position and Papi to replace him (I agree), but it’s not going to happen until Hughes let’s Bellamy down considerably unfortunately.

Hughes is always a massive chance to play halfback over Croft.
