but yes will all depend on where the rookies are Round 1 , hopefully Rowell & Anderson are ready to play.
I wouldn't be confident that Rowell & Anderson will provide much value... even Sam Walsh this year was just a pass as a rookie given the high starting price. Rozee the only other high priced rookie worth taking this year..

Docherty , Mitchell & Ward could be the keys , a few cheapish rookies that didn't play this season (eg Rankine , King) , heaps of value (possible traps in the F lines)

2 @ $ 700k = $ 1.4 million
10 @ $ 625 k = $ 6.25 million
Bench = $ 1 million

so 10 players for $ 1.35 million + the savings from Doc , Titch & Ward might allow a 13th premium

Running all three of Titch, Doc and Ward seems a bit high risk to me both Doc and Ward could underperform and need to be moved on, Titch is a no brainer if he’s circa $550k with his discount but that’s still not cheap and he could well take a while to get going after a year out the game. Think you’d be pretty game to take all 3 mate

All just very preliminary thoughts at this stage until trades , the Draft and player positions & prices are released.

Can't see me not taking Ward if he is $ 397 k.

geez if Walsh was just a pass you have higher expectations on rookies than me , made a $ 220k profit and averaged 86.9 for the whole season.

think Bailey Smith got close to a $ 200k profit as well.

Yes he did make that eventually but most cut him before the byes.. I didn’t personally but would you say it was a worthwhile investment if you’d cut him then... others would’ve provided a greater return.... that’s the point I’m trying to make

Round 8 $ 452 k according to Footywire , right in time for a upgrade , doubt too many rookies make that sort of $$$ so quickly ( $ 245k profit).

Generally have a few fallen premiums around $ 525 k so $ 75 k ish to upgrade is a massive win win.

Think sometimes you need to pay the higher price for rookies if they have perceived better JS , once you get stuck with guys like Constable & Scott sitting on your bench not playing and making $$$ , it becomes pretty hard to upgrade and your season quickly goes nowhere.

Yes totally agree, I had Walsh on field as the other rookies were putrid at the start of the year... but generallly it’s the cash generation of the lower priced rookies that’s required.. Walsh ended up with the most disposals ever for any first year player so he isn’t really the norm.. usually the first year players that get games seem to put up similar numbers regardless of their draft pick
