RE: …….but at the moment we’ve got a decent
midfield who are working really well together.
The better they go the more opportunity I’ll have down forward...…….
It's hard to make a case for Heeney if he says himself that he will play more forward. He doesn't say how much more then in the midfield.
I wasn't impressed with Sydney's midfield last season. Kennedy is probably their best midfielder, 32yo, and Parker does well there, but not much else. Lots of youngsters.
I don't think SYD has worked out it's best midfield structure yet, still experimenting, so Heeney might play midfield more then he thinks. I think he could be a very good midfielder given a decent chance.
What I think is irrelevant, as I don't have inside info, but if the midfield is not functioning properly, then changes likely be made.
Because I am not sure, that's why Heeney is just 'For Consideration' with me at the moment.
Heeney is in better physical shape this year. Last year Heeney had knee surgery preseason, this year it's only his thumb. Fitness wise, he should be ok, but playing more forward is not good.

Isaac Heeney will undergo surgery and looks set to miss the Marsh Community Series after fracturing his thumb at training...…..Scans confirmed a fracture in his thumb," Swans football manager Charlie Gardiner said.
"Isaac is obviously disappointed but he should be back running in a matter of days and we're confident he will be available for the start of the season."
