Am thinking of going 5 deep in the 2 year old race - Kings Legacy, Aim, Untamed, Old Kirk and Holyfield (and C on Kings Legacy). Adding Rubisaki, Shared Ambition and Kinane (thanks @hunterpunter ) means I can take Pierata and Bivouac in the All Aged. It also means ignoring Quick Thinker.

Only 10 staters in the 2 year old race so will get 5 counters. Yes it's defensive but the change of track conditions to a Soft 5 and maybe better tomorrow for mine makes recent form a bit questionable.

Can we still pick a $50k pop that's not selected to pick a higher priced runner? Considering others up to $100k are unlikely to finish in a point acquiring position.
To be honest, I haven't tried.
It might work, though at the moment I want 3 runners in each of the Gp1's, and 1 in each of the Gp3's, so I can max out my potential score.

Been absent due to house move and using 105 litres of paint on the new joint. Spent a while picking the first couple of weeks and went pretty average ,so last couple of meetings ,picked team in about 15 mins, and not overthinking seems to have worked. Hadn’t looked at last weeks score until I saw today’s preview email and bugger me, managed 280 last week, 13th for the week and 647 overall (Dungers ). Forgive the bragging but the missus isn’t into racing,so had to tell someone. Now that I’ve bragged,I’m prepared for a letdown tomorrow.

Here's one for those looking for a small each way interest today.
She won't be in my SC stable, as she is too expensive, but if the Punters Club was operating today, she would be my tip to run a place, for our Group Multi.

Syd Race 8 - No.4 In Her Time $9.50/$3.00
Here's why:
In the last 3 years 2 months and 14 days, she has had 21 starts. 16 of those 21 at Gp1 level.
She is racing at Gp3 today.
Those 5 non Gp1 runs in the past 3 years have produced 4 wins and a 3rd (only beaten 0.3L)!!!!
3 of those wins, and the 3rd, were at Gp2 level.
The 3rd was at this track and distance, and she was beaten 0.3L by Santa Ana Lane!!!
3 of the wins were at this track, and 3 of the wins were at this distance, 2 this track and distance.
She's 3rd up today, and the last time she was 3rd up she once again finished 3rd to Santa Ana Lane beaten 0.3L, only this time it was a Gp1 race at Flemington.

She maps to settle 2.5-3L off the lead, one off the fence, with the race fav Deprive a few lengths behind her.
While the pace should be ok, it probably favours her more than the fav, and anything settling behind her might struggle to finish in front of her, barring any unforeseen bad luck on her behalf.

Hi Professor, your team looks good..but different!

- why select deprive at such a high price in a group 3. Rubisaki is $1.60 favourite and 125k cheaper and also in a grp 3

- Sylvias mother is 100 to 1 in a group 1. Wouldnt you think Holyfield at $8 in a grp 1 and 100k cheaper is a better choice?

Please dont think I am saying anything is wrong with your team. I actually love the variations!
I am just interested to know what your thought processes were for it.

Ps. Your team is far more exciting than my 'safe' stable! Best of luck.

Hey Johhnyboy, appreciate the feedback. I am different to the norm and go my own way most times, that's why I'm 50 points behind @Rowsus each week. Structure wise I was following Rowsus in having 3 runners in the G1's and 1 in the G3's. I agree with your thoughts regarding Rubisaki, but can't compromise on removing Deprive, as I think he's ready to produce the goods, albeit very expensive. Sylvia's Mother had a shocker in her 1st heavy run, but should improve on the slow track, drawn well and will race midfield, as I like taking risks I'll be sticking with her. With my total budget I couldn't fit 3 expensive picks in a G1, so had to look for value, she won't win, but hoping for a top 5 finish. Holyfield, has the form and should go close, but, I have this gut feel that he won't stay the 1600, with Fayerra pressuring him up front, but I just realised I've got Philizzy in at the same price, so I'll make a swap and also bring in Rubisaki. Thanks again for your views.

Thanks for the reply. I have gone very safe, but no risk generally means no reward so ill have a look at some options.
Good luck today.

This is how im shaping up. Gone with prefessor and Deprive! Was either deprive or tofane. And im banking in deprive top 2 in g3 to beat tofane outside top 4 in group 1.
Was close to going santa. I just think bivouac gets the right run today. But very hard race and all the chances are expensive.

Dont want so many in the champagne but its a ten horse field and the value is all there. Any of them could win so what do you do!

Risking quick thinker. Hoping kinane gets it done!

You little ripper Kinane! Had a sneaky little bet on it when it was at $10 too
