Hanely?? def/mid.
Shame theres so many premium options next year.
I think he'll manage to make it into most sides by the pointy end of next season

Any love for Kade Simpson in the backline next year? He's averaged mid 90's in the last 5 seasons and rarely misses a game.
Depends if he grows his beard again. Notice how his scores this season tended to increase as his beard grew bigger? Coincidence? I think not.

Picking the right defender will be interesting. Remember Johno saying that he's a big fan of Adcock and I can see why. What you see is what you get - consistency. Previous year stats are 20x90 / 21x90 / 22x91.

Sam Mitchell's prior year stats were 20x113 / 21x110 / 21x104. At first glance, looks like a natural decline but looking more closely at last years stats, he posted 51 in round 16 and missed round 17 so should be good enough to make up the slight decline.

Yeah I tend to agree. Any chance of getting a tag next year? I think I'll be looking to bring him in but not start with him. Toughish start to the year from memory.

And Malceski too! Lol

Always liked Adcock too, just wish he could show glimpses of that year when he averaged 110 or whatever it was. Seems to have a couple quiet games every so often which keeps him around the 90 mark.if Hanley was to start getting tagged and he got off the leash, I'd consider him.

I like Hanley and Adcock, but for me selecting them comes down to their flat track bully analysis from Rowsus.

Brisbane have the toughest draw of all clubs:

1. They're the only club to play 5 matches against last season's the top 3 clubs
2. The play last season's bottom 4 clubs only once each
3. They play Richmond and Nth Melb twice - clubs on the rise

The 2013 FTB analysis indicated Hanley as a massive flat-track bully who beats up on the weaker teams.

With a much tougher 2014 draw, I think I'll steer clear of Hanley.

What do Swans fans think of Laidler's chances of getting into the team next year? If he can get some games, can he return to his 2011 form with the Blues (17x71)? With his magnificent 1 game of 30 in 2013, he'll be cheap, cheap, cheap.

He will play the early matches. If his price is cheap enough, could be a starter for some coaches with upgrade option in the bye rounds. Likely to be in the 70 scoring range.

If Hanley/Brisbane had a nicer start to the year, or even nicer fixture for the entire year, I would start with him. At this stage he looks to be one of my last 5 or so Upgrades after his bye. Can really see him playing more midfield and having another great year. I started with him last year and he didn't disappoint apart from 2 quiet games.

Very good point, hammo and Rowsus.
Will definitely have to consider that

Anyone looking at Trent McKenzie? All the late rage late last year in an improving GC outfit, could top the 100ppg average next year?? Doesn't appear to have those massive possession games like some of the other backs which is a slight concern. Only topped 20 possessions 9/18 times so needs to be ultra efficient to score well.

2011 - 21 games @ 69
2012 - 18 games @ 67
2013 - 18 games @ 89

Yeah I had him from about halfway through last year, love his work due to his effectiveness of disposal and not necessarily the sheer number of disposals he has. That being said I would love him to rack it up a few more times in an improving GCS outfit as that would see him push up to an average of at least 95+ I would have thought. Should definitely be watched over preseason in my book.

Forgot about him. I think he should be considered this year. He seems to be improving each year.

Had him as my D6 last year and he gave me 2 very good games before averaging out.
I like his consistency more than anything else, will definitely be a serious contender in my team.

Think at the moment there are better options in the backline. Had him in the backline for about the last 2 months. Did well but died out toward the end, scoring below 80 for the last 5 games. Maybe another pre-season, could be a good option.

So Pearce Hanley possible MID/DEF DPP?
If so I am very very interested, even though Brissy have a pretty tough draw and Hanley may get the tag.

I't always nice having D/M players but..... Are there any that we will actually place in the MID to open the link? Is there any D/M rookies?
