Rough plan that I hope pays off
$145,600 4 trades left

Round 15 (haven’t traded)
1 trade Close to Dow gives me
$261,400

Round 16
Draper (302k approx) + $261,400 to ROB (509k approx)
leaves approx 62k
Shuey (471k approx) + 62k = 533k to Boak (535k)

I’ll be short about 2k

So my question is should I skip Dow and trade in a dud 102k rookie or hope that somehow the projections that I’ve seen add a little bit more

Draper will be $310k so not short.

NFI what I'm doing this week.

Spend a decent chunk of my bank on Jelly > Neale?

Was planning on using those funds to upgrade Draper in R17/R18 but a little torn as to whether it's worth doing such a move so late in the season.

Expecting to have 15 warm bodies before trades.

@teatai
I thought you were considering McEvoy or ROB this round from your post in the XY thread.
Here I was 'slitently' hoping you had gone the ROB path...:confused:
Yeah was actually tempted but wanted to hold Draper 1 more round, hard to trade out someone with a -21 b/e thought he would do well again but only sub 64

EDIT:
didn’t expect ROB to go that huge with a b/e of 87 was hoping he get a low ton

@inwhiterooms

I think is a pretty tough spot to be in.

TBH I think if you have any dreams of upgrading Draper in R2 you pretty much need to wear the 15 this week or trade Kelly to a cheaper option to protect some cash (e.g. a JPK or the like).

At least that way with 2 trades remaining an 200k+ it might give you some options.

I think if you go up to Neale, you will pretty much be resigned to having Draper at R2 for the remainder of the year with only 2 trades and next to no cash.

Not sure if that helps, but thats probably the way I would go :confused:

Upgrading Draper to Gawn will make the last few rounds so much more enjoyable I reckon. I’d just cop it this round and then look to do Riccardi/Draper to Rookie/Gawn in a few rounds if you can. Otherwise, grab a ROB or NN type (post rest)

I need to be stopped. I'm getting increasingly crazy trade ideas late in the year. Right now it's Toby Greene and Zac Bailey. I don't know, maybe there's something to it, maybe it just sounds more exciting than Haynes and Jack Martin (who I'm really not keen on).

Zac Bailey I am strongly considering for my final trade. Based on that, it's probably a bad idea. :D

Guessing next week we could all be singing "We're all members of the NTL club". Except I can't sing, so I won't be doing that.

I won't have to make my final trade until Sunday, or maybe as late as Wednesday depending which trade I do, so I guess someone will run out before me.

There is actually a decent reason to consider it- look at his scoring from rd7 onward. Mitch Robinson's fallen off a cliff and that's meant more wing time for Bailey. Still not a big possession winner but being able to ton up from 15 touches playing wing/half forward isn't bad. He can get defensive forward roles though, he spent a bit of time against St Kilda following Brad Hill around (but still put in a match winning performance in the last quarter).

I'm scrapping the trades I had planned earlier in the week. McGrath's injury has thrown a spanner in the works. Also Rhys Stanley unlikely to become my R2 now with injury concerns.

Any suggestions on how I can use my last 4 trades to maximise points? Feeling a bit lost now.
