Something a bit different, basic premise is if I've heard something bad about a premium, they're out... this is my result.
Backs
Laird - He's a lock for mine. The only guy with a perfect preseason so far and genuine upside combination.
Short - Think he's fairly priced with potential to improve but I'll be honest, I'd probably take Doch instead at this price.
Williams - Worth the risk at his price. Don't think he goes backwards and he's definitely capable of at least spiking to make cash in the event he doesn't get premium.
Milera - Think he's an 85 guy but more than capable of a solid 105 type month to price spike. More importantly, I can see a 95 from him that adds a silver lining to his already solid cloud.
Rooks - Just occupying the spots. Judge nothing from them. This goes for all lines.
Mids
Steele - The one I'm most bullish on, think the team improves, think he improves in his 2nd year as a ball winning midfielder. I actually see his move last year as not dissimilar to Neale moving to the Lions and that went pretty well the 2nd year around. Neale out on preseason injury, things need to be pretty flawless at his level.
Petracca - Surprisingly little news on him, wouldn't mind a puff piece. Just rate him and think he's got upside. There is certainly risk in this pick though.
Bont - The interesting pick but this is a durability, age profile, best player at the team and Treloar's durability combination. I think he's capable of a much higher average if things go well but should be fairly priced... of course he's burned me hard everytime I started him so far...
Kelly - Upside and the preseason just get me here. Too good a player and I just like watching him (another strong factor in this team!)
Cripps - Lock, too much risk to not pick.
Heppell - Can see a solid 90 average with a 105+ month to spike. That matches the mid level rookies but the scoring should be reliable and worth the premium as such. Absolutely perfect storm he could hit M8, added bonus.
Rucks
Well all thought of something different here went out the window when my R3 went down.
Forwards
Sidebottom - If Danger looks fine, and given his drama queen level he probably is, then I'd change this but perfect preseason rule... I don't know why I don't like the Dunkley pick but between his durability and role concerns I just struggle with it.
Martin - This is basically a durability play. I think he's 5 points overpriced, I think he'll be available for ~75k less and yet he's the best bet to play 22 and he's a strong bet to be best 6 at season's end. That I think that makes him a top 2 pick at the position is, quite frankly, disgusting.
Ziebiher - Locked in my side until they aren't there round 1.
I hate this forward group, the more I look at it, the more I want to start Ziebell at F1 and I still think that's my preference if the rookies allow it. Biggest issue with doing it is actually overbalancing other positions, I don't like Lloyd as a starting pick either, but would basically be going towards too many defenders or mids, which forces you to be more accurate in starter choices at those spots as you limit the flexibility big time for your upgrade targets and do have to put an early focus towards forward upgrades. For the first time in a long time though there doesn't seem to be any standout mid or def rookies and with Impey, Daniher and Ziebell basically rookie priced you might have the 3 best in the forwards and all special cases on JS front which does make finding 5 others a lot more viable than it should be.
