I like the Boak pick. I have been thinking I need a PA MID.?
Just gets the job done each and every week , Mr Reliable.

Never realised how good he actually is as a player until the last few years watching him on the TV each and every week.

Think he and Merrett will be Top 10 mids.

Wines is the one getting the big wraps from the media here at the moment.

I understand the risk starting both Kelly & Fyfe but prepared to strap myself in big time.

Hello, this is what I’m running at the moment. Cash left $3,500

BACKS- Laird, Stewart, Z.Williams, Duggan, Chapman, Gould, WEHR, HIGHMORE

MIDS- Brayshaw (freo), Walsh, Cripps, Rowell, Bailey Smith, Will Phillips, Powell, Macrae, VALENTE, DOWNIE, GULDEN

RUCKS- Gawn, Grundy, FLYNN

FORW- Dunkley, Martin, Butters, Ziebell, Daniher, Impey, COCKATOO, ROWE

Risky in the mids I feel but I’m hoping 3 of brayshaw, Walsh, Cripps and Rowell can become keepers and Bailey smith will explode early and be an earlyish trade out towards a Neale or Oliver or someone of that I’ll. Think there’s plenty of potential anyway. Pretty comfortable with the rest, purposely haven’t put any 102000 players in so I can downgrade easier when teams come out. Also will sort out loophole player then too.

Thoughts?

Welcome aboard.

It certainly is a very different looking midfield , whether it works or not who knows for sure , I will leave that to better coaches than me to comment on , but full credit for trying it.

I think you have 7 guaranteed keepers in Laird , Stewart , Cripps , Gawn , Grundy , Dunkley & Dusty.

Williams , Duggan , Brayshaw , Walsh , Rowell , Smith , Butters could all work or 50% of them might , so lots of unknowns

Most will have Ziebell , Daniher & Impey so no problem their + 5 onfield rookies.

8 definite upgrades , so maybe 12 downgrades = 20 trades

10 trades up your sleeve to try and fix the other 7 players if necessary (let's say 4 of them work)

I like it , it could very well work

Had his highest average since 2014.

Played 9 games including a 150 and a 141, so didn't have enough games to normalize his scoring.

Plays an outside/flanker role.

30 years old.

Can be tagged.
Interesting comments

Been 94+ since 2012 , so probably been prone to the tag quite a lot.

Has been playing the same way his whole career , can't see him suddenly completely falling off the cliff in my opinion.

Normally I'd agree, but since the psychic weight of my intense loathing for him as a starting option will cripple his psyche, he'll drop down to a 90-95 average and miss multiple games.

Sidebottom last year

125 , 95 , 150 , 67 , 141 , 94 , 94 , 93 , 103 , 117

Take out the 150 & 141 and he averages 99.14 from the remaining 7

I admit I don't know how to play , but if those numbers are still not good then I have completely no idea and waste of time even playing the competition at all

Does he even care about your psychic thinking or intense loathing ?

Might be my brain at this time of night , but makes very little sense to me at all as well.

Yeah, they're decent - but look at 2019 - 5 scores below 70, another 4 below 90. He had the big scores and good scores, but didn't drop those poor scores he's potentially susceptible to.

Who scores 90 every week for a whole season ?

I am sure throughout his entire career he has high scores , medium scores and low scores.

And still averaged 94.3 for the season.

Be very surprised if he is not in the Top 10 for averages for forwards at the end of the season.

The Supernatural works in mysterious ways. He likely won't understand what's happening to him but will be filled with a general sense of dread that will compound with every fumble of the footy.

In all seriousness, it's just a joke about me not valuing him as a starting pick, and how I've coincidentally not liked Howe and Adams and they've ended up not working out (Howe as a trade-in target last season), Adams this pre-season.

Wouldn't be surprised either.

Usually go Guns and Rookies and avoid burning through trades on **** mid pricers but I'm just not sure the rookie stocks are going to be there this year.

Ok I've got 2 team models here I've been pretty happy with.one with 12 keeps pure guns n rooks, the other a little looser. I ignore team score prediction this time of year but would like thoughts on both. Yes I know danger and Whitfield in doubt but still wanted a team that could fit both incase they make it to round 1.
Cheers

I assume in your pure guns and rookies team you consider Daniher as a rookie, and not a gun? He is not really either.

I probably prefer the team where you mix it up a bit personally.
