STORM V RABBITOHS
Thursday 11 March, AAMI Park, Melbourne, 8.05pm (AEDT)
Storm:Harry Grant is out for the first three rounds due to a knee injury suffered in the final trial with Brandon Smith to start at hooker and plenty of options for the bench with Nicho Hynes the favoured option. Brenko Lee didn’t play in the trial due to a hamstring injury but will be fit for Round 1 and it’s expected he will replace Dean Ieremia on the right wing outside Reimis Smith. Christian Welch started at lock in the trial with coach Craig Bellamy looking to keep a captain on the field at all times, with Dale Finucane dropping to the bench. Ieremia started the trial against the Knights and didn’t look out of place but keep an eye out to see if he is promoted to the Top 30 squad before the season starts as he is only on a development contract.

Predicted team: 1 Ryan Papenhuyzen, 2 Josh Addo-Carr, 3 Justin Olam, 4 Brenko Lee (d), 5 Reimis Smith, 6 Cameron Munster, 7 Jahrome Hughes, 13 Christian Welch, 12 Ken Bromwich, 11 Felise Kaufusi, 10 Asofa-Solomona, 9 Brandon Smith, 8 Jesse Bromwich © Bench: 14. 1st choice Goal Kicker – Ryan Papenhuyzen
Back Up Goal Kicker – Cameron Munster

Rabbitohs: South Sydney are sweating on the fitness of Jaydn S’uA for Round 1 after he failed to play in trial due to injury, if fit he would start on right edge with Keaon Koloamatangi on the left. However, there are whispers around that S’uA will be ruled out, which would see the same set up as the Charity Shield with Jacob Host on the left and Koloamatangi on the right. Campbell Graham should be fit to play after failing to finish the trial after a head clash with Poasa Faamausili with Mark Nicholls coming into the 17. Jaxson Paulo and Josh Mansour are fighting it out for the starting right wing position with Paulo getting the nod in the Charity Shield on the weekend but I am expecting Mansour to start there in Round 1. Benji Marshall will win the bench utility position after spending time at hooker in the Charity Shield. Jai Arrow spent time on the right edge during the Charity Shield and could see some game time there during the season. Liam Knight didn’t trial due to concussion but will be fit to play. Jed Cartwright is unavailable after having surgery this past week.

Predicted team: 1 Latrell Mitchell, 2 Alex Johnston, 3 Dane Gagai, 4 Campbell Graham (d), 5 Josh Mansour, 6 Cody Walker, 7 Adam Reynolds ©, 13 Cameron Murray, 12 Keaon Koloamatangi, 11 Jaydn Su’A (d), 10 Tom Burgess, 9 Damien Cook, 8 Tevita Tatola Bench: 14. KNIGHTS V BULLDOGS
Friday 12 March, McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle, 6pm (AEDT)
Knights: Newcastle start with a number of players on the injury list with Lachlan Fitzgibbon (shoulder), Blake Green (ACL), Edrick Lee (foot), Jirah Momoisea (Achilles) and Kalyn Ponga (shoulder) all unavailable. Kurt Mann and Mitch Barnett both missed the final trial due to personal reasons and will come into the squad with Mann partnering Mitchell Pearce in the halves and Barnett starting on the left edge. Hymel Hunt also missed the trial due to a hamstring injury but did train with the squad during the week and should be fit for Round 1, with Gehamat Shibasaki set to get the left wing position ahead of Starford T’oa.

Predicted team: 1 Tex Hoy, 2 Hymel Hunt (d), 3 Bradman Best, 4 Enari Tuala, 5 Gehamat Shibasaki, 6 Kurt Mann (d), 7 Mitchell Pearce, 13 Connor Watson, 12 Mitch Barnett (d), 11 Tyson Frizell, 10 David Klemmer, 9 Jayden Brailey, 8 Daniel Saifiti Bench: 14. 1st choice Goal Kicker – Tex Hoy
Back Up Goal Kicker – Mitch Barnett

Bulldogs: Have a number of players in doubt leading into Round 1. Nick Cotric suffered an ankle injury in the weekend trial and will need to prove his fitness. Jake Averillo suffered an elbow injury a couple of weeks ago but should be fit to play. If Cotric isn’t fit, coach Trent Barrett could be forced to play Averillo at left centre with Brandon Wakeham holding the five-eighth position. Dylan Napa (knee) and Raymond Faitala-Mariner (ankle) both had interrupted pre-seasons and didn’t play in the trial but both have returned to training with view of being fit for Round 1 though both will be eased back into it. With Jeremy Marshall-King suffering a lisfranc injury in the All Stars game, hooking depth has come into question with only two hookers in the Top 30. If Marshall-King is ruled out, someone like Lachlan Lewis may come onto the bench as back-up hooker to Sione Katoa, who would be hard pressed to play 80 minutes in the NRL. Josh Jackson will move to lock in 2021 with Adam Elliott on the left edge next to either Averillo or Wakeham, and Corey Waddell partnering Kyle Flanagan on the right edge.

Predicted team: 1 Corey Allan, 2 Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, 3 Nick Cotric (d), 4 Will Hopoate, 5 Nick Meaney, 6 Jake Averillo (d), 7 Kyle Flanagan, 13 Josh Jackson ©, 12 Corey Waddell, 11 Adam Elliott, 10 Dylan Napa (d), 9 Jeremy Marshall-King (d), 8 Jack Hetherington Bench: 14. Sione Katoa 15. Raymond Faitala-Mariner (d) 16. Ofahiki Ogden 17. Renouf Atoni

However, expect to see a major switch up from 2020 going off the way the Eels lined up in their trial on the weekend with Mitchell Moses and Ryan Matterson switching over to the left edge, with Shaun Lane and Dylan Brown switching over to the right. Tom Opacic wins the vacant left centre position while Joey Lussick will win the bench position to provide cover for Mahoney.

WARRIORS V TITANS
Saturday 13 March, Central Coast Stadium, Central Coast, 3pm (AEDT)
Warriors: Look to have been dealt a massive blow with Wayde Egan suffering an elbow injury in the trial on the weekend which saw him leave field and not come back on with Jazz Tevaga and Bailey Sironen spending time at hooker for the rest of the game. David Fusitu’a (niggle) and Chanel Harris-Tavita (quad) are both expected to be fit despite not playing in the trial. Jack Murchie failed to finish the trial due to concussion but with a two-week break should be fit for selection if required with Eliesa Katoa in doubt after suffering a cheekbone injury at training.

Titans: The Gold Coast for once have a fully fit roster leading into Round 1. AJ Brimson returned in the trial to play 40 minutes at fullback after recovering from a foot injury suffered in Origin. Corey Thompson is ahead of Phillip Sami for the left wing position. New signing Herman Ese’ese played in the trial against the Bears despite not being named and didn’t play in the final trial, but should win the bench position ahead of Sam Lisone. Beau Fermor wins the bench utility position ahead of Sam McIntyre who has just recovered from a foot injury with a plan for McIntyre to play in the Q Cup trial this weekend. Ash Taylor will partner Kevin Proctor on the left edge with Jamal Fogarty and David Fifita on right edge. Jamal Fogarty wins the goal kicking duties ahead of Pat Herbert and Ash Taylor, who hasn’t been practising goal kicking this pre-season after groin surgery in the off season.

ROOSTERS V SEA EAGLES
Saturday 13 March, Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, 5.30pm (AEDT)
Roosters: Victor Radley and Sam Verrills are racing the clock to be fit for Round 1; both have been training in non-contact vests this pre-season and just need to get a final tick to play Round 1 despite not playing in trials. Angus Crichton looks set to switch to left side to partner Lachlan Lam this season with Luke Keary, who is in some doubt due to a hamstring injury, set to partner Sitili Tupouniua on the right edge. Josh Morris didn’t take part in the final trial after being a late withdrawal and could be in some doubt with Matt Ikuvalu playing left centre in the trial. Adam Keighran spent time in the final trial at hooker and if both Radley and Verrills aren’t right to go in Round 1 Keighran could find himself on the bench as utility. Joseph Suaalii is expected to receive NRL clearance to play in the NRL despite being underage but it’s unlikely he will be selected to play in Round 1.

Sea Eagles: Manly’s hooking ranks could be dealt massive blow with Cade Cust to be ruled out after suffering a broken left thumb in the trial against the Tigers which saw development player, Sione Fainu, a prop by trade, spending time at hooker. However, Lachlan Croker is expected to be fit for Round 1 after suffering a hamstring injury at training. Daly Cherry-Evans, Kieran Foran, Jason Saab and Jake Trbojevic should all be available after being rested from the trial. Josh Schuster could jag a bench utility role with injuries in hooking ranks. Reuben Garrick’s position in the 17 is in question with new recruit Christian Tuipulotu a chance of replacing him.

PANTHERS V COWBOYS
Saturday 13 March, Panthers Stadium, Penrith, 7.35pm (AEDT)
Panthers: Penrith’s squad is fairly settled leading into Round 1 with Scott Sorensen the only player unavailable due to injury while Brent Naden will play NSW Cup for the opening four weeks. Momirovski wins the right centre position and will form a partnership with Charlie Staines. Expect to see Kurt Capewell to start on the right edge ahead of Liam Martin who could see time in the middle this season. Rookies J’maine Hopgood, Isack Tago and Taylan May have all been promoted to the Top 30 and could make their NRL debuts at some stage during the season. Hopgood was a standout performer in the trial and looks set to be 18th man for Round 1.

Cowboys: Have a few positions up for grabs with fullback, left wing, left centre, right edge and 2 bench spots in play and the final trial not answering too many questions. Starting props Josh Mcguire and Jordan Mclean didn’t play in the trial due to hamstring issues but both should be fit for Round 1. Jake Clifford looks to have beaten Valentine Holmes to goal kicking duties after goal kicking in the trial.

Predicted team: 1 Scott Drinkwater, 2 Valentine Holmes, 3 Justin O’Neill, 4 Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, 5 Kyle Feldt, 6 Michael Morgan ©, 7 Jake Clifford, 13 Jason Taumalolo ©, 12 Mitch Dunn, 11 Coen Hess, 10 Jordan McLean (d), 9 Reece Robson, 8 Josh McGuire (d)

RAIDERS V TIGERS
Sunday 14 March, GIO Stadium, Canberra, 4.05pm (AEDT)
Raiders: Captain Jarrod Croker is racing clock to be fit for Round 1 after having surgery in the off season and not playing in the trial against the Roosters. Croker has been training with the squad and will need to gain clearance to play with trial-and-train player Sebastien Kris spending one half each in the NSW Cup and NRL trial on the weekend at left centre. However, Kris would need to be promoted to the Top 30 to play in Round 1. Jordan Rapana wins the left wing position with Bailey Simonsson on the right wing outside Curtis Scott. Ryan James looks set to win a position on the bench after being the first replacement used in the trial against the Roosters.

Tigers: All eyes will be on Tigers team on Teamlist Tuesday hoping Daine Laurie has done enough to win the fullback role ahead of Moses Mbye who spent whole pre-season training at fullback to only suffer hamstring injury at training putting him in doubt for Round 1. Joey Leilua missed the final trial due to a foot injury but should be fit with Asu Kepaoa set to win the left wing position ahead of Tommy Taulau. Thomas Mikaele has been managing a foot injury this pre-season and will need to prove his fitness with Russell Packer an option to come onto the bench in his place. Adam Doueihi misses Round 1 due to suspension with Jock Madden set to make his NRL debut. Luke Brooks was handed goal kicking duties in the trial with success and it’s expected it will continue in Round 1.

Predicted team: 1 Daine Laurie, 2 Asu Kepaoa, 3 James Roberts, 4 Joey Leilua (d), 5 David Nofoaluma, 6 Jock Madden, 7 Luke Brooks, 13 Alex Twal, 12 Luciano Leilua, 11 Luke Garner, 10 James Tamou ©, 9 Jacob Liddle, 8 Joe Ofahengaue

DRAGONS V SHARKS
Sunday 14 March, Netstrata Jubilee Stadium, Sydney, 6.15pm (AEDT)
Dragons: St George switched things up in the Charity Shield with new coach Anthony Griffin moving Josh Kerr to the right edge next to Ben Hunt and he will start on an edge come Round 1. Jordan Pereira and Poasa Faamausili both failed to finish the trial due to concussion but with a long turnaround until Round 1 should be fit for selection. Pereira’s position is under threat from Mikaele Ravalawa while Cody Ramsey is likely to be on the other wing. Jack Bird will start at left centre despite only training at that position for the last month. Corey Norman is suspended pending appeal but I expect Jayden Sullivan to partner Hunt in the halves with Adam Clune on the bench as a utility hooker/half. The final bench spot is open with Kaide Ellis, Jackson Ford, Tyrell Fuimaono and trial-and-train player Jaidyn Hunt (if promoted to Top 30) chances to make the 17.

Predicted team: 1 MattDufty, 2 Cody Ramsey, 3 Jack Bird, 4 Zac Lomax, 5 Jordan Pereira (d), 6 Jayden Sullivan, 7 Ben Hunt ©, 13 Blake Lawrie, 12 Tariq Sims, 11 Josh Kerr, 10 Paul Vaughan, 9 Andrew McCullough, 8 Poasa Faamausili (d) Bench: 14. With Shaun Johnson injured Matt Moylan will start the season for the Sharks. Picture: Getty Images.
Sharks: Cronulla rested both Aiden Tolman and Toby Rudolf from the trial on the weekend during to minor hamstring injuries but both trained with squad during week and will be fit for selection for Round 1. Jack Williams and Billy Magoulias would be the players to make way. Josh Dugan suffered an ankle injury after heavy hit from Okahiki Ogden in the trial which saw him leave the field put reports are Dugan will be fit to play. Hello!!!!
I am new to supercoach and just want some advice on my team. Please let me know any advice, i dont really know what im doing! I have roughly 10k left in the bank
Welcome to the site. Always good to have new members here.

I have never tried NRL SC before, so someone like @Connoisseur will be able to give much better advice, but I think when I looked at scoring for this one a year or so ago your bench emergency scores count to your team total? Based on a few other teams posted in this topic I think it might be the case still. It looks like you have lower scoring players on the bench, but I could be wrong.
