As there's no other betting topic, thought I'd post here, as it was this topic which inspired it.
You might remember a couple of times I put $5 on a 3 leg multi at odds of $100+ hoping for an unlikely big win for the club. I decided to try out if that's a good system or not by picking one multi per day at $100+ odds, which I started on 1st of June. I'm not putting on real cash yet, want to get an idea what my success rate is first. I'm not usually a punter, I just found these bets the most fun out of those I put on and figured if I ever was to start, this would be what I'd try - if there was any realistic chance of success (there's plenty of other things I'd rather donate $5 a day to).
First 3 days were a massive failure (1 of 9 total legs got up), the last two have been much better. Friday's bet was Australia in the soccer ($1.28), Bailey 3+ goals ($14) and a random try scorer for Penrith, Fisher-Harris ($6) - first two legs got up, Penrith were awful.
Today I decided to focus on World Cup qualifiers and picked Brazil ($1.22), Guatemala v SVG 5.5+ goals ($5.50) and Barbados to win 1-0 ($15). Again the first two legs got up (Guatemala won 10-0), the third failed with Barbados conceding an equaliser in the 93rd minute (Barbados were pretty big underdogs to win).
Probably nobody cares, I'm sure you all have your own big betting wins etc, just thought I'd post here as it was this punters club which got me even slightly interested in it. Still undecided if I'll give this a crack with real money or not, I'll give it a couple more weeks to see if these two results were a fluke as I expect they were, but $5 a day for a bit of fun is not exactly going to send me broke if I do. Get the feeling any luck I do have when I'm not spending real cash would go away pretty quickly!
