Anyone caught any of late night T20 games on Channel 9 recently ?
I set personal video recorder for quite a few of games and quickly fast forward to watch bits that had some action.
Aussies were ranked as 9th or something before the series but now are into final 3.
The West Indies and Australia play tonight in semi final. The winner plays Sri Lanka in final late Sunday night.
With no footy on it is my 2nd favourite sport. I prefer more traditional cricket but T20 has improved as a game and bowlers seem to be more part of it rather than just a pure slog fest that it started as.

I hope they include David Hussey in tonight. He is a specialist at this form of cricket but not been in side so far in games I've seen. Has not cost Aussies because most games Watson, Warner and Mike Hussey been the only ones batting but last game when they all went out Aussies lost. Not really a fan of Cameron White but I know he can hit big. Watson been the player of the series so far. Gayle, Watson and Warner are going to be the ones to watch tonight but Aussie quicks Cummins and Starc have impressed me greatly in what I've seen. The wickets are favouring spinners now so they might not be a big factor now but look good for Aussie Test side to have Cummins, Starc, Pattinson, Siddle fighting out for spots in side.

Any thoughts on T20 final or make up of Aussie Test side for summer to come ?

Great we finally have a thread about the cricket!!:D

On the David Hussey inclusion, yes he should ahve played the whole tornament in place of the captain George Bailey. Sorry not a fan of his batting but admit his capatincy is fairly good.
Star is on fire and a gem in years to come, Cummins is up and down at the moment but it is a learning curve and he will be a star as well.

In the Test arena I think Brad Haddin has lost his spot to Matty Wade, and Clarke is one of the very best bats and captains in the game.

My Preffered Line-Up

1. D. Warner
2. Shane Watson
3. M. Clarke
4. R. Ponting
5. M. Hussey
6. U. Khawja/P. Forrest/D. Christian
7. M. Wade (WK)
8. J. Pattinson
9. P. Siddle
10. N. Lyon/M. Starc
11. B. Hilfenhaus/P. Cummins

The number 6 batting position goes to whoever is performin better out of Forrest or Khawaja, like to see some youth in our batting coming through.
Dan Christian is also there depending on conditions and the need for an extra bowler. Lyon starts ahead of both Cummins and Starc but depending on conditions and the opposition along with Hilfenhaus.

Tip for the T20 World Cup Final: AUS vs. SRI L
It will be very tight the final whoever comes up against the Sri Lankans.

Completely agree with your choices for Test bowling line up. Not sure yet whether Wade gets Haddin's spot and no 6 spot is an issue still. Not a lot of young talented batsman in nation right now. Someone like Mitchell Marsh hope steps up. Maybe Watson bats at 6 in Test side so he can bowl a bit more when we pick one or two spinners. Need to find good openers and middle order bats soon because Ponting and Hussey can not carry them forever.

Yep your right number 6 is an issue, as you say not to many youngsters dominating with the bat but Forrest looks good from what I have seen of him and Khawaja will develop more once he gets a decent look in when Ponting and Hussey go.
I went Watson at the top of the order because I think he would be wasted in a position any lower than four and I also believe Clarke should take over at nuimber three after Shaun Marsh's failure.
On Haddin I am not convinced he can match it at the top level stiil, love Matthew Wade and it would also be harsh of them to drop him after scoring a 100 against the WI earlier in the year.

Pollard and Gayle went mental at the end... 25 off last over.. 206 the target... Watson, Warner etc going to have to do some damage to get us in the game. At this stage Windies got to be favourites.

I reckon that's the worst game I've seen Australia play in any form. Bailey showed a bit with the bat but still don't think he should be in the team, let alone captain.

Yeah bailey's innings was the only positive to take out of the game. Australia's bowling was very, very poor and we were no chance of chasing down that target even with Watto and Warner.
Pollard hit some form and 'Mr Cool' batted brilliant, just imagine if he wasn't injured and got a bit more strike, things could have been a lot worse.

I personally just think it was more of a case of Windies playing very very good and we were not up to it on the night. I hope the Windies pull the whole thing off on Sunday night. Been a long time since the West Indies been any type of force in any form of cricket. Be nice for a change to see them have some success. No doubt if they win we will see Usain Bolt partying it up on the news. He is in Australia right now on holidays and I'm sure will be watching the final.

Least Bailey actually showed he could bat in that form of game. It was impressive innings he pulled off for a while. Until then I did not know what he did that had him get a permanent gig in the team apart from being captain.

Yeah best innings I have seen him play, although haven't seen anymore of him than what is on channel nine and the T20's in Australia earlier this year.
A bit rough for David Hussey who hasn't played the whole tornament, gets a game, miss fields a ball that flew of the turf and gets a 2nd ball duck.

Yeah I am barracking for the Windies.
I also saw SL game against Pakistan and once you get there top three of Dishan, Jayawardene and Sangukkara they really struggle with batting depth.

Yeah, poor Dave Hussey did have a poor night but that is T20 cricket for you. I suspect if he played every game he probably would have been on his game but tough luck. This shortened form of the game can be brutal at times. He could not take a trick last night.

I reckon Dave Hussey should have been in the team from the start ahead of Cam White and probably Glenn Maxwell and Bailey.
Although he didn't bowl great last night I think he is a good T20 bowler (From memory he is our leading T20 wicket-taker) and had he had a bit of match practice might have been able to tighten the runs up a bit. Actually probably not because Gayle and Pollard would have hit anyone, anywhere last night but you know what I mean.:)

I thought even last night Hussey looked harder to hit than the other slow bowlers but then Pollard and Gayle were in such a high they were going to hit anyone last night as you said. It was great hitting to watch. I always thought Australia and West Indies had the two most dangerous batch of hitters for this form of game and atleast one of them made it through to final. I don't think Sri Lanka has the level of power hitting within them. Before the game I kept thinking Gayle, Warner and Watson were the ones likely to do the damage. I forgot all about Pollard. He hits big too. He even made Mr Cool look mortal last night when they were batting together.

Well you would have been forgiven considering Pollard has been disapointing up until last night.
Must say I didn't really rate Marlon Samuels but from what I have seen of him in the tornament he is a handy cricketer.
Dwyane Bravo isn't what he use to be but still got a decent score for them and apparently he was injured.

It'll be interesting to see who wins the Match tomorrow night. I think Sri Lanka might get it at their Home Ground.

I am tipping a close one but the WI have me on board after there performance against us last night.
Lets hope that Chris 'Mr Cool' Gayle is fine and rarring to go with the idea of entertaining us neutral supporters.
