Overall
After what can only be described as a complete domination of the comp Atanaz cruises home on the Mitch Marsh captaincy train to win by a staggering 995 points. Atanaz placed 2nd in game 1, dropped to 5th after game 2, was in the lead again by game 7 and was never headed after that. Her lead was 322 points after game 9 and got as high as 1009 points after game 36. A few nervous moments as it dropped 286 points after game 41 however and strong finished saw it blow out again to the ultimately victory margin. Atanaz is the daughter of Danny & Nooshin (and granddaughter of Mark) who are 3 long term supporters of all my comps so nice to see them get rewarded for that.

Another long term support of this style of comp in particular in @Foxy's Fe-Lions finishes 2nd by 421 points after a mid-table result in the final section. Ross (also a long term supporter) whistled home to win the final game and place 3rd overall just 10 points clear of 4th. Ross started the game 255 points behind 3rd place.

Ben V has a habit of doing well in my comps and he does it a different way this time by placing last by a pretty impressive 567 points to get his money back.

Section 5
Ross’s final game heroics was also enough for him to get up in the final section making up the 91 point deficit to Atanaz he took into the final game.

Highest Score
Nobody was able to get the better of Loretta’s game 6 score of 680 points so she takes out that category.

Thanks again for playing this time and hopefully it was a bit of fun and it gave you a reason to follow the T20 World Cup. I have to say that I didn’t really give Australia a chance to win given their recent form and historical struggles in this format but there you go.

2021 T20 Cricket World Cup Honour Role
1st Atanaz $160
2nd Foxy’s Fe-Lions $100
3rd Ross $70
Last Ben V $10
Highest Score Loretta $50
Section 1 Atanaz $50
Section 2 Abhishek $50
Section 3 Foxy’s Fe-Lions $50
Section 4 Diabolical $50
Section 5 Ross $50

Well done to all the winners, and thank you very much @Beg2Differ for running this. It was fun as always. Go Aussies!

One day I might actually be a chance at a prize in one of these comps, I was in the running for last for a while, but just went mediocre enough for that to be put well beyond my reach too. I guess it takes as much luck to come last as first - something I just mustn't have.

That was good fun, well administered @Beg2Differ

Must admit I didn't religiously follow which players I had although to be fair that's mostly because I set myself up for disappointment every time I actually checked. Like seeing halfway through the final that I'd drawn Starc as captain... Although it appears the scorecard has been kind and granted me Cummins (13) instead.

And speaking of captains... I'm not sure this comp needed them? It's already a lucky dip, this just felt unnecessary. But maybe that's because my captains kept getting single digits.

If you run this next year I'll definitely be back though. Congrats to the winners!

I wouldn't hold my breath. I have played in every comp I have ever ran and never won one...

Interesting thought on the captain and I can see your point. Other than the fact that it is pretty standard to have a double point captain in a fantasy comp the rationale is to create more differences between the teams and thus more opportunity to make / lose ground. However not sure it is actually serving this purpose.

This is the 3rd time I have run a comp like this. The first only had 2 players per team per game. The second was pretty much identical to this one. I think I might retool it a bit if I run it again in future.

Fantastic competition thanks @Beg2Differ and very well organized, as always. It definitely created additional interest, particularly in games that you wouldn't normally be interested in.

Absolute lucky dip in terms which players you drew, but this would/should usually balance out a bit over a competition of this length - which makes the winning margin so amazing.

I'm wrapped to have been lucky enough to do well this time around and thanks again for organising. I'll definitely be back next time around!
