Played: M Nabi
DGW: R Khan (C), G Garton, J Wells and H Nielsen
Yet to play: A Russell, A Zampa, J Philippe, T Curran, D Sams and A Agar

Very solid foundation with all involved tonight scoring 40 or more.
A contrast tonight with all onfield players scoring below 40, with Gilkes on my WK bench outscoring the trio by 16 points.

At over 200k, a 1 in his system is going to be proper crap for his price. Whilst we have 108 points across two games now, it can quickly turn into a lower than 50 average over 3-4 games.

Sure a lot of other popular players have flopped, but none of them are 200k+ like Sams.
The ones that have lost out are the ones that have traded Sams in this week.

There will be plenty of people that have payed over 180k for some pretty terrible returns. Over 50% had Maxwell for an under 30 averages. Mujeeb put up a shocker. Hales a pod that’s averaging single digits.

Starting Sams for a 54 average isn’t fantastic but it’s solid, but he’s not going to plummet in price until that 107 rolls out, and he could just as easily pull out a ton in the next game to stop the potential bleed.

Mujeeb lost over $20,000 last round, he was over 200k at the start of the round.

Like any player Sams could continue to perform badly and the only conclusion then would be to dump him. Until that happens though I believe the sensible action is to hold him. I am more than happy for most SuperCoach's not to hold him and would encourage all not to buy him for future rounds.

Only 1 player involved for me tonight. Sams, for 1 point.

Still, if someone had said before the Round started, you can be 2/496 after 2 games, with Richo + Sams = 108 points, I would have locked it in, with glee!!!!

I remember last season, or the season before, Sams was facing a BE of around 120. I thought I'd wait a game or two, and pick him up cheap. Yep, he beat his BE!!!

He's owned by 35% of Coaches. All this has done is 2 things. Made it probably a little cheaper for those committed to getting him. Or put doubt in the mind of those not committed.
Unsure what his BE will be, but it’s a free look for non owners. Don’t doubt he will go 80+ tho

Ballsy captaincy from Maxwell. Zamps bowls the 2nd and 20th overs. How bout just bowling him conventionally and he goes for 5 an over off his 4 and doesn’t get to the last ball
Im on the side of it being terrible captaincy in all honesty but they won so who cares in the end.

Can't deny the logic there, buy him at the start of the season and do that until it stops working. Then do that the next season, and the one after.

On Sams previous low scores:
2020-21: 21, 31, 26 - season average 65.2; lowest price $188,500
2019-20: 5, 9, 17 - season average 68.5; lowest price $169,100 (starting price)
2018-19: 2, 4, 8, 22, 26, 28 - season average 59.1; lowest price $114,400 (after 4, 67, 2 and 8)

I started with him for his keeper value.

I’m on that side 2. Need the points after Sunday’s debacle and NCN isn’t there at the death, and one of the premier spinners is bowling in patterns he would rarely bowl in.

Just the Stars being the Stars I guess. So frustrating!

Ah the duality of Sams. He's a true x factor, can do it all- positive or negative.

I went Zampa over Dre Russ so that's a small win. 31 isn't much for a guy who won the game with the ball and despite the efforts of his teammates. I reckon a leggy doing that in the last over should be enough for at least a 50 point bonus :p

Was hoping (expecting) more from my 3 Star players but oh well I have no influence on what they score.

Now to ponder Coulter-Nile or Maxwell as my 4th Star for next round (starts Sunday)
My 3 Stars score 62 combined

Gilkes (WK2) scores 66

why buy expensive players 🤔 , hopefully they all perform on their DGR and don't lose money

Go the cash gen I reckon, unless you rate Peirson.
While getting Gilke's score would be nice, unless you see some sort role for Peirson in your side, it is a short sighted move.
Yes, Patterson for the cash was and is the original and favoured plan, just worth putting all options under the microscope.
Thanks for affirmed my thinking.
