I'm still bemused everytime I see this level of cricket being played in "colors".
Way back in 1982 I had an umpire pull me aside, and say:
"I'm not happy about those blue stripes on your shoes (I was wearing all white, but had adidas shoes with the 3 blue stripes). I'll let it pass today, but if you are wearing them in another game I'm umpiring, I'll have to stand you down from playing!".
Fortunately, I didn't see him again that season.

Very sorry for moving off topic but @tso and I would enjoy some more company to join us in the SCS Darts league to participate in the new PDC Fantasy Darts game for the 2022 World Championships which gets underway tomorrow morning 6:00am AEDT and this thread provides us with the most traffic tonight.

No league limit, so the more the merrier and hopefully those that are unfamiliar with the sport can become fans over the festive and new year period. We both participated in the World Grand Prix edition created by a different company with @tso finishing in the top 5/top 10, whilst I took out the top prize of £500 and are both happy to help provide any tips and advice for newcomers.
Sorry once again but I would like to give a very big thank you to @KLo30 , @Ironhawk , @squid and @The Banker for taking the time and the decision to quickly throw together a side on such short notice to join @tso and myself for either the next few days or the remainder of the tournament. Although a few of our selections have not delivered as expected and suffered a shock early exit, hopefully they were able to witness the below live this morning and have now become a fan of the sport, if for some unknown reason ;) they were not already.

Numerous coaches will be disappointed and annoyed with their start to the SC BBL season considering the time and effort put in but it is a necessary reminder of how fickle fantasy sports are and the difficulty to consistently achieve deep runs, as well as being on the right side of those 50-50 decisions more often than not. As myself and countless others can attest to, the most fun that can be had is to participate in the free fantasy competitions in which you have no or little interest or knowledge, nor get to watch any action throughout the season, no expectations as well as no pre or misconceived notions or attitudes towards certain players. You will be pleasantly surprised how successful your strategies can be.

If Guthrie does play, can we pick him with confidence now knowing he’s likely in their best team?
One bad performance and he could lose his spot, but i find it hard to see how he plays.

Steketee, Mujeeb, Swepson are all locks. Leaves 2 spots for Bazley, Bartlett, Guthrie.

Bazley
0-18 off 3.
1-27 off 4 and 14 (7)
3-28 off 4 and 16* (12)

Bartlett
1-20 off 3.1 and 26* (18)
1-34 off 4 and 34* (25)
1-48 off 4

Guthrie
2-32 off 3
1-40 off 4
1-10 off 4

Whilst Guthrie was incredible against the gades, and has been solid, he hasn’t blown the other two out of the park. He provides nothing with the bat and with the other 3 bowlers being poor with the bat then heat would have a very poor tail. In addition, he’s a replacement player and not part of the original squad, which should say something about where he is in the pecking order - not sure he’s done enough/the others being bad enough, to change that.

I think that the batting of Bartlett and Bazley is key. Batting at #7 and #8 they provide a certain insurance that the Heat need.

N.B, As I have all of Bazley, Bartlett and Guthrie I want them all to play. But the Heat seem to like playing only five bowlers.
