Just a reminder to everyone (that follows NFL) that we have 4 spots left in our 12 team NFL Sleeper Redraft league (via sleeper app)

Draft night is planned to be SEP 4th

Those interested & (and haven’t already joined) - let us know 🙂
Never played in a Draft League, so I will go with the flow.
I haven't looked at NFL since the last game, last season, so will need to do a crash course just before the Draft.
I'm keen to try it, BUT if you have too many entrants, I don't mind dropping out.

@jaca - the link to our league is a few pages back. Welcome to join! You’d be the 9th (we’re hoping for 10 or 12)
@Bermi - we have a spot for you, only have 8 atm so no stress

To everyone else: having both K & DST isn’t common. I’m happy to change DST to another flex or even a super flex if you guys prefer that (which includes options for another QB). Can keep the total number of players selected at 15 (regardless of our K/DST/super flex) situation (usually 15 onwards you are picking randoms that not many know at all lol)

Sounds like the preference is draft on the same day/night, in turns between say 3-5m? (Can still change right up to the day of the draft)

@Professor @KLo30 @Rupert @froffershanners @Baglimit @Bermi @Connoisseur

Hey fellas - I know that the draft is still ages away (and we are still looking to recruit 2 or 4 more to make 10 or 12). But am wondering if you guys would prefer us do the draft in one night (1m turns) or do the draft over 1+ weeks (12h turns). And whether or not you guys would prefer having a K & DST (or not)
Hi all.
Just dropped in to see what was happening now my AFL fantasy teams are pretty much settled.
Glad I did.

I'd prefer no K or DST as they are just so chancy and unpredictable - but if others want them I'd be happy enough.
I'd like the flex to allow for QBs as well. i.e. RB, WR, TE and QB.
I notice there are 2 x Injured Reserve spots. Are they only for players that clubs have put on IR or is there a different qualification.
Is there a "help"tab on sleeper?

I'd prefer to do the draft in one go - with maybe 2/3min picks? It could take a while but you'd think the full 2/3 minutes wouldn't be needed until the later rounds.
I know that in AFL drafts I usually have my next pick ready before it's my turn and it usually takes 10-15sec. Only if the coach immediately before me picks the player I want does it take longer.

Thanks for the reply / input. I can make the adjustment for a superflex (where you can run 2 QB) arrangement (instead of a Kicker), however it will flip the draft on its head. It depends on what you guys are content with. Superflex puts an emphasis on drafting QBs simply as they score a lot more than regular players. But I’m happy to get more feedback from everyone? Perhaps a poll even

In terms of IR I haven’t changed the settings (you should be able to check in league setting for what classifies as IR). Anyone classed with a general or long term injury / COVID (from what I remember last year) you’ll be able to place that injured player into IR & pick up another player from Waivers

Sounds like 2-3 minute turns in one go/night is the preferred method, so I think we’ll stick to that!

I think we will have a lot of novices who will be playing to make it up to the 12 players. The more the settings get away from QB, 2xRB, 2xWR, TE, Flex, K, DST standard leagues the more they will be disadvantaged, and less likely to succeed and return the next season.

We've managed to get one draft league up over the years, and that was a hard struggle. I like us to get to the point where we have multiple redraft leagues and a variety of formats.

To do so, I think we need to keep it simple at first and build from there.

Hi all, I'm in, and fully agree with Ken's sentiment. His proposed roster line-up makes sense/is very familiar looking, and I would suggest that includes only RB/WR/TE too. I think we should have K and DST too. I play in an IDP league and it's hilarious when you get a win due to a pick 6 from a fat lad - but probably a stretch for year 1.

As for a draft, I'd be able to lock in an evening and would rather get it done in 2-3 hours than a week. Potentially we could do a zoom chat at the same time for a bit of craic. I'm easy.

@American Doggie like to show us Aussies how to really re-Draft?

For those who don't know, Aussie Doggie loves his AFL Supercoach, and has organised a darft Keeper League, which a few of us are involved in. He has also got a start up Dynasty MLB league, which Connoisseur and myself are involved. (which is looking for another active member)

I'd love to get a proper Dynasty NFL league from members here. Perhaps a 12 team, 2 conference, Aussie and American league.

I've tried to find this on Sleeper but I can't. I can't find the General Settings tab.
When I click on "league" I get a page with the teams then league settings which include number of teams, roster, playo*** etc etc . The only mention of IR is "injured reserve slots 2".
Would I be right in assuming that Sleeper is able to determine if a player is IR eligible?

There are what look to be a couple more differences to what I am used to in AFL drafts:
draft pick trading allowed - do we want it? If so, how does it work? It is new to me, probably most of us, and something I'd rather avoid in our first year.
waiver type FAAB Bidding - nothing I've ever come across before. Would I be right in assuming it is a budget based auction type system. If so, I do think that I'd rather not have to deal with this in the first year. I would have no idea as to a particular player's worth. Could the more simple rolling list that UF uses be used? i.e. take a player off waiver and go to the bottom of the waiver order.

And a question:
I assume it is possible to set a pre-draft draft order for the players but I can't find a way to do so.

Sleeper determines who is on the IR (or not). I believe this is also reflected from the NFL team lists when they’re submitted. Pretty straight forward much like AFL (I think)

Draft trading is allowed but from a starting year (for us) I would say keeping all draft picks as is would present fairer (for everyone).

I was pretty non-committal about FAAB in my first year of playing but it actually grew on me. Basically after each round there is a window for coaches to bid a certain $ (up to them) on players they want to bid $ on. It presents fairer because some may place higher (and lower $) bids based off how they value a certain player (and their performance in the previous round). May take a week or two to get used to but I can vouch for it being a fairer system, as all coaches get to bid for players (Using the standard waiver system it often disadvantaged players that utilised the waiver system more than those that didn’t). After the auction/bid period concludes (usually on Monday) all the other players are unlocked (to free agents) until their game the following week

Not sure if this makes sense but hope the explanation is reasonable clear

In terms of doing a pre draft order it is possible, in your draft room you can ‘queue’ players based off your preference. It then becomes your cheat list which you can flick back and forth. In the default players section click the purple page (add) button next to your players name and they’ll jump into your queue. You can adjust positioning once they’re in your queue list as well (edit, adjust etc)
