Just looked and I could do Clark > Hollands and Curtis > Jackson. Would then have Jackson as permanent ruck and forward cover for the year. Then next week Wehr > Massimo and McCartin > 510k defender to finish team with decent cover and 2 trades (not ideal I know). Thoughts?
Jackson is appealing as cover given I’ve got English R1, Preuss R2 (Teakle R3) as well as Butters up forward.
Probably not a direct answer to your question, but as an observation, I think sometimes people spend too many trades trying to set up cover, rather than using the trades themselves as cover when it’s needed.
A few rounds back, someone like English may have been appealing in part for his DPP to cover the ruck line (obviously there were other appealing attributes as well), but now he’s not there when you need him. If you do the trade later, at least you have better info on who is fit and in form at the time you bring in the cover.
For me the tradeoff shifts a bit when the remaining number of trades gets very low. In that case I think there’s a premium on the trades themselves, and the appeal of using one to establish DPP cover goes down a bit.
You should be able to get a decent DEF for 510k if you do go down that path though.
